@UnathiAfrika I cannot agree more with the general sentiment. The world (and tech/industry) are rapidly changing but it seems we in South Africa are oblivious to this, remaining firmly rooted in our very outdated "cold war" ideologies.
@ewnreporter Beyond baffled. How are we talking / considering polygraph tests? They are pseudoscience. They do not work! This is well and long established within the scientific community. How are they still being used to exonerate or discredit anyone. I feel for Sanders. Disgraceful!
@MalaMalamente Lets teach logic. False Equivalency Fallacy (irrational thinking). Thing A has specific trait. Thing B has same specific trait. Flawed conclusion: Therefore thing A is the same as thing B.
@OrevaZSN Naive understanding of a billionaire. Must they get rid of the asset (taxed 100%) that makes them a billionaire? No more innovation. No more progress. Companies closed down upon reaching 1B value? World goes backward. Not the sharpest thinking applied.
@MightiJamie An idea thats ok but not sure it will work. The current incentive in the system (tenderpreneur) is too lucrative. R10M bonus is maybe "chump change". SR keeps more than that in his couch. Find the incentives to understand the system.
Today the ANC asked for your forgiveness. Then proceeded to table an unfunded budget, in a city that their own finance minister declared bankrupt.
You be the judge.
@OrevaZSN Or 1800: ~80-90% extreme poverty. 1990: ~38-40% extreme poverty. 2025:~8-10% extreme poverty. Also look at life expectancy, child mortality, literacy, GDP per capita. Basically any demonstrable metric. Spend 5 min on: https://t.co/osS7X2OgJc
@RyanCoetzee Unemployment is staggering. USA great depression peak 25%. 2008 Greece/Spain 25-27%. South Africa. 32%. Average for last 30 years: ~28%. Over 30% for 6 continues years since 2020. This is not short term. It is structural.
@RediTlhabi Hyperbolic. Classic elite discourse. Framing policy disagreements as existential threats. Prioritize narrative control over pragmatism. Tlhabi spends so much ink on this topic. There are far bigger threats to our democracy.
@JezziiB Well you could consider debt non-ownership but under a communist regime, it is clear: no private property ownership (of anything). Not just your house.
@Fat_Electrician There seems to be a lot of mixing open/close loop cooling systems. Open loop (evaporative) seems to be older tech / data centers. Newer are normally closed. Also, modern closed loop data center uses dramatically less water than a golf course. Fact check me.
@OrevaZSN I guess when the production line becomes fully automated you can say "The robot made your iPhone". This is really about your concept of value. You are proposing the LTV (labour theory of value). Is value objective or subjective?
@Markosonke1@MYANC I have been saying it again and again. What serious person keeps cash in their couch? Who does that? This single bit of information is so inconvenient. Everything else almost does not matter. Who keeps money in a couch?
