Leaving San Francisco is bittersweet but I’m so excited to take what I’ve learned here and apply it to this new challenge with the amazing visuals team at the Dallas Morning News.
After 7 amazing years, I’ve just walked out of the @sfchronicle for the last time. I’ll be taking on a new challenge as the Deputy Director of Visuals for the @dallasnews in June.
Working for the Chronicle was a dream come true. I’m so grateful for this amazing team.

Yesterday, we published a yearlong investigation into fatal police chases around the country.
We also made our data public. If you're a local reporter hoping to dig into fatal chases in your community, please - use our data!

CHRONICLE INVESTIGATION: Police chases are killing more and more Americans.
Pursuits now claim nearly two lives a day across the country, and public officials are failing at nearly every level to confront the growing problem.

Deadly police chases are killing record numbers of Americans. The vast majority of people killed are suspected of only a minor crime, or no crime at all.

NEW INVESTIGATION:
Police chases are killing 700 people a year.
The government is undercounting — so we built a database. Turns out most victims aren't even the fleeing drivers.
And there's almost no accountability.

When my mom discovered clues leading to my great-great-grandfather’s lost grave, I set out on a journey to find it. I didn’t know I’d need to bring my own shovel. Photo by the great @NualaBishari@sfchronicle https://t.co/tTqGyaHK6e
I’ve put off writing this note but it’s time to face the difficult thing that I’m still processing: @FifthandMission is ending, the podcast I’ve produced and hosted for over 2.5 years.
Today’s final episode is my goodbye note and reflection to listeners. https://t.co/F7RxPxfRWo
