More explosions!! Repeated process I used on the first fireball for the rest, tweaked the background colors a few details here and there. Calling this the final. Not perfect, but it's just practice so I'm gonna move on to new stuff! #sketching#clipstudiopaint#finished
Explosion time! I don't have much exp making effects like this, very much figuring out as I go. This is the process for building one arcane blast, tmrw we add a bunch more to fill out composition. #clipstudiopaint#wip#practice#explosions#sketching
Created the lightning whip with a source flair and a glowing tendril. Darkened background colors + added star particles to the sky. Darker shade makes the glow effects pop. Drop shadow for the character on the ground. #clipstudiopaint#wip#practice#sketching#coloring
Flat colors, then added glow + detail to armor/mask eyes and stitching to the leather. Shading to define musculature and depth. Used watercolor brush and blend brush to create a smoke effect swirling around the shoulders. #clipstudiopaint#wip#practice#sketch#coloring#shading
Mask design gets changed a couple times, went with something a bit creepy and less Mortal Kombat-y than the initial concept. Simplified costume to be more form-fitting. Futzed around with the hair before going to final ink. #clipstudiopaint#inking#sketching#practice#wip
New week new sketch!
Started with construction lines and rough pencil concept for his look. The 3D modeler tool in Clip Studio is super helpful for poses like this. #CLIPSTUDIOPAINT#WIP#sketch#Practice#actionpose
Final! Used texture brush to create cracks, then drew in cherry blossoms to make it look more like twisted branches. Green/pink background allows the dark coloring of character to pop. Bloody magic effects to the hand to give a sinister, arcane vibe. #art#CLIPSTUDIO#Sketching
Flat colors to define shapes, then giving depth w/shadows + highlights. Used Watercolor, Airbrush tools to do these. Finally, added color details to mask + hand and eye, texture brush to the kimono to make it a little interesting. Final version w/background + magic effects tmrw!!
Adjusting the kimono to better reflect real-world designs- added a bow and a higher collar. Then refine all the pencils in cleaner black ink lines. Tmrw we move to shading and colors! #CLIPSTUDIO#Practice#art#inking#warforged#sketchbook#WIP
Going to start posting my art process for sketches here as part of my quest to become a comic artist! I'm working in Clip Studio Paint predominantly with the G Pen and Transparent watercolor tools for this picture. The character is a murderous warforged from the DD5e universe
Early pencil stages - blocking in the rough form, refining the shapes, and then settling on the character design I'm happy with. #CLIPSTUDIOPAINT#ComicArt#Practice#WIP
