🚨New research alert! 🚨
We systematically reviewed 133 studies (110,968 mothers!) and found that though co-occurrence of psychological distress and bonding problems is common, it should not be assumed. Fantastic work leading this paper @gypsyodea !
Research shows that bonding with baby takes time, and that’s completely normal. We need to get this info out to new mums to reassure them that it takes time to get to know your baby and to bond with them.
In our survey, many mums highlighted that bonding with their baby wasn't instant, and that this had made them feel bad, or as if there was something wrong with them. We think more should be done to support mums and families struggling to bond. #BondingBeforeBirth#IMHAW2023
@EikoFried This article was published in 2015, the correction issued in 2016, and the correct title appears online, so I’m confused about the point you are trying to make here. Is this the best or most recent example you could find to illustrate your point?
