The world's first livestream of humanoid robots across a full tablet production inspection line concluded on Sunday, as eight China-developed robots carried out six days of fully transparent operations in a factory in east China's Nanchang, producing 17,625 units and achieving a task success rate of 99.99% for over 64 hours of cumulative runtime.

A former NASA engineer says his team has identified an electrostatic "New Force" that can generate thrust without any propellant, potentially challenging established physics and enabling devices capable of countering Earth's gravity.
Dr. Charles Buhler, a longtime NASA veteran and co-founder of Exodus Propulsion Technologies, claims that his group has uncovered a novel force produced purely through electric fields. Their experimental propulsion system creates directional thrust without expelling mass, unlike conventional rockets that rely on large amounts of heavy fuel. If validated, this propellantless technology could revolutionize spaceflight by slashing spacecraft weight and making sustained, fuel-free exploration of deep space possible.
The broader scientific community remains cautious. A reactionless drive of this kind would appear to contradict Newton's third law and the conservation of momentum. Earlier claims for "impossible" engines, such as the EmDrive, were ultimately debunked after careful testing eliminated experimental artifacts.
Buhler's extensive expertise in electrostatics, developed at NASA's Kennedy Space Center, gives the announcement more credibility than most fringe proposals. Nevertheless, the results require rigorous independent replication and peer-reviewed validation before they can be accepted as a genuine breakthrough.
A new MIT study provides fresh evidence in the ongoing debate over whether electric vehicles (EVs) are truly better for the environment than gasoline-powered cars.
Critics often highlight the environmental costs of battery production (mining lithium, nickel, cobalt, etc.) and the carbon intensity of electricity generation. However, researchers at MIT conducted a comprehensive lifecycle analysis comparing gasoline cars, plug-in hybrids (PHEVs), and battery electric vehicles (BEVs) across different U.S. regions, climates, driving patterns, and electricity grids.
Key finding: In most locations, fully electric vehicles produce 40% to 60% fewer greenhouse gas emissions over their lifetime compared to similar gasoline-powered cars.
The biggest driver of these savings is the cleanliness of the local electricity grid. EVs deliver the largest benefits in areas with high renewable or low-carbon power, but even in regions still heavily reliant on fossil fuels, they generally outperform gasoline vehicles. The advantage is expected to grow as power grids continue decarbonizing.
Plug-in hybrids also provide substantial benefits, often achieving 80–90% of a BEV’s emissions reductions in urban areas with regular charging.

The space company Avant Space has launched the world's first advertising satellite into Earth orbit.
The first spacecraft in the future "Sozvezdie" satellite system will consist of dozens of such satellites in low Earth orbit, projecting images onto the night sky.
Each satellite is a pixel, part of a single symbol,
which will light up as it flies over major cities around the world.
The satellites, like the space advertising technology itself, are environmentally friendly, as after three years of active operation, they are deorbited and burn up in the dense layers of the atmosphere.
Lasers are completely safe for aviation and do not interfere with astronomers' exploration of new frontiers of space," said Avant Space founder A. Ossovsky.
The entrepreneur is confident that the outdoor advertising market will grow from $39 billion to $53 billion by 2030. And the space industry market will reach an incredible $1 trillion.
Energy use by AI data centres in the UK could cause emissions of 123m tonnes of carbon dioxide – as much generated by 2.7 million people over 10 years.
So while cow burps are blamed and farmers get punished with a carbon tax on fertiliser, the tech giants are rewarded with AI data centre contracts.
Scientists have identified specific gut bacteria that appear to trigger multiple sclerosis (MS).
In a groundbreaking study conducted at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, researchers examined 81 pairs of identical twins in which only one sibling had MS. This unique design allowed them to control for genetic and environmental factors, isolating the role of the microbiome.
The team found that two bacterial species, Eisenbergiella tayi and Lachnoclostridium, were significantly more abundant in the twins with MS. When these microbes were transferred into mouse models, they directly induced MS-like autoimmune symptoms, providing strong causal evidence.
This is the most precise identification of microbial triggers for MS to date and adds powerful support to the gut-brain axis in autoimmune disease. The discovery raises hope for new approaches to early detection, prevention, and treatment — potentially by targeting or modulating these specific bacteria before symptoms appear.
While human clinical trials are still needed, the findings represent a major step toward microbiome-based therapies for MS and other autoimmune conditions.

Thank you to @DoubleDownNews for highlighting @thenerve_news’s Palantir reporting. This show with @PulaRJS is great new addition to UK media’s small but growing indie news ecosystem.
For the starting price of $2,000, https://t.co/eaWp8Z1lOY allows anyone who feels they’ve been unfairly reported on to file a complaint against a journalist’s story.
Critics say the start-up, which is funded by Palantir co-founder Peter Thiel, is a "high-tech protection racket for the rich and powerful."
