Helen Andrews recently made an observation that stopped me mid-scroll.

She pointed out that in the late Soviet Union, the 60s and 70s, not the Stalin era, no one was being thrown into gulags anymore. But it was still oppressive. Why?

Because the government had a clear, specific ideology, and it embedded that ideology into every institution. Every factory, every academic institute, every workplace had a commissar whose entire job was to enforce the Party line.

Her argument: We have that today. It's just called HR.

Any institution with more than 10 employees likely has an ideological enforcer on staff. The government doesn't just ask for legitimacy anymore, it demands acceptance of a specific ideology. It's evangelical about it. And that, Andrews argues, is fundamentally incompatible with what America was founded on: freedom of thought and freedom of philosophy.

Whether you agree with her or not, the structural parallel is hard to ignore:

• A mandated belief system
• A dedicated enforcer in every institution
• Dissent treated as a disciplinary matter

Her conclusion: You cannot have solid, independent, Republican citizenship if the government has an ideology it feels compelled to enforce on you.

In 2016, the Netherlands Meteorological Institute adjusted temperatures at De Bilt, the country's main climate station.

Daily maximums from 1901 to 1950 were lowered by up to 1.9C, which removed 16 of 23 heatwaves from the record.

The altered data were then used to claim modern heatwaves were unprecedented.

Today, the Meteorological Institute has quietly changed its approach, and as a result, seven erased heatwaves have been restored, including the extreme summer of 1947.

Here again, we have a government agency caught rewriting climate history. The Netherlands Meteorological Institute erased heatwaves of the past, ignored critics, and reinstated the truth only when the evidence became impossible to ignore.

Policies were built on that manipulated record. Dutch farmers lost livelihoods. Industry and the wider economy paid the price. But accountability is coming.

The FA have recently banned me from all of football for the rest of my life.

I was a referee. A player for 33 years.

I got struck off as a doctor for writing five letters supporting patients right to bodily autonomy to refuse the Covid jab. I had rows with high profile doctors claiming jabs were safe and effective in children and pregnant women. This was called harassment. No one exhibited the letters as evidence. No one knew which country, date or content of letters. No harm resulted. I was ‘proven to have breached rules and international policy’ that no one can cite. No patient or clinical issues of harm or negligence the panel stating what an exemplary doctor I was. Then struck me off.

This has since led to my inclusion on the vulnerable adults and children barred list naming me for life from working or volunteering in these groups. An egregious punitive sanction.

I have not harmed anyone, no child safeguarding incident or concern. No crime. No conviction. No mention of the word child. Because breaking the uncitable rule was so bad as I allowed my ideas and opinion to over rule a ‘policy’ IF it were a child safeguarding policy I MAY ignore and it COULD bring a child to harm.

This has since led to an initial 6 month total football suspension even citing I couldn’t play or take neighbours kids to training which as you will know isn’t a regulated activity requiring DBS.

I’ve never had a point on my licence, a detention at school, a yellow card, complaint as a player or referee. Not one aspect is football or child related. They cite my DBS listing as meaning it’s proportionate to ban me for life from all football related activities.

I can not find another referee who has had such a draconian sanction. Total football bans are for match fixing scandals, serious crime and child sex offences. Why have I been banned? Unprecedented Orwellian dystopia. Just raising awareness.
