Web3 communities already live somewhere.
The difference is whether that place is rented or owned.
Discord, X, Instagram, even most crypto socials keep the identity, the graph, and the audience on their servers.
Leave the app and the audience stays behind.
A @ERC725Account Profile flips that: the profile is a smart contract you control.
Name, picture, followers, assets, and permissions travel with the address.
Apps like @hupsocial plug into it.
They do not own it.
That is the reason to @lukso_io 🆙️
One profile, usable across every app built on the same standards, with scoped keys instead of a single seed phrase, and gas that an app can cover so a new member is not stuck at the first transaction.
Your community already has a home.
It just doesn’t own the keys.
On Discord, X, or most social apps the graph, the name, and the audience sit on someone else’s server.
A Universal Profile is the account.
Smart-contract identity, metadata, assets, and permissions live on LUKSO and follow the member into every app that speaks LSP.
(Lukso Standard Proposal)
Hup is the social layer on top of that. Posts, polls, markets, mini-apps.
Not a new silo.

It's still a mystery to me how supposedly decentralized blockchains can shut down. 😄
With @lukso_io it needs only a few people to keep it running and it would continue forever, as is the true Ethereum L1 stack but for culture.
(In fact we ourselves run NO validators of the network)
If you believe in a web3 for social and culture then I invite the abstract community to join LUKSO.
Our community is building that future and it’s the real decentralized and grass roots version of it.
Download the Universal Profile app on the app/play store and try @hupsocial, @momentsonchain and other apps.
And soon also use it as the web3 browser for all popular EVM chains too. And explore with a 🆙 rather than a simple wallet.
I’ve changed how I think about building on LUKSO.
For years I’ve wondered why more of crypto doesn’t seem to care about what’s being built here.
Smart contract accounts. Account abstraction. Onchain identity. Permissioning. Social graphs. Digital assets. Extensible profiles. All built as interoperable standards, with identity at the core.
A lot of the things crypto is getting excited about today have existed on LUKSO in some form for years.
And yet, outside the LUKSO bubble, almost nobody seems to care.
Maybe they’ve never heard of it. Maybe they looked once and dismissed it. Either way, trying to pull the existing crypto crowd over hasn’t worked.
And I’m increasingly convinced that chasing them is the wrong goal anyway.
Crypto today is overwhelmingly driven by financial speculation.
Memecoins. Trading. Points. Airdrops. Yield.
If LUKSO wants that audience, it probably needs significantly more liquidity. Degens go where there are things to trade and money to be made.
But that audience is tiny compared with the rest of the world.
Most people aren’t degens.
They don’t want to bridge funds, manage wallets, sign transactions, understand gas, speculate on tokens or care what chain something runs on.
They want products that are useful, fun, social, creative or meaningful.
So that’s increasingly where my focus is.
I want to build products on LUKSO that benefit from blockchain — ownership, identity, portability, programmability, decentralisation — while abstracting the blockchain itself almost completely.
The user shouldn’t need to care that it’s a dApp.
They should just care that it’s a good product.
I think that’s where LUKSO gets much more interesting.
The first game on LUKSO, Clyx Stacker, is now live on Mainnet and ready to play at https://t.co/GtftPft3Rt!
We are proud to be, to our knowledge, the first ever to introduce preserving your save as an NFT and to thereby showcase the power of LSPs on LUKSO in a gaming context.
You've prob seen me or someone in #LUKSO saying $LYX is going to 1000x
But is that actually realistic?
How does LYX actually accrue value if @ERC725Account and @lukso_io get mainstream adoption?
Here's the investment thesis I keep coming back to.
1. LYX becomes operational inventory, not a speculative asset.
Today, users often don't think about gas because it's abstracted away. But gas doesn't disappear. Someone always pays.
If brands like Nike, Adidas, Spotify or Louis Vuitton build experiences on LUKSO, they're not going to ask mainstream users to buy a few dollars of LYX before claiming a digital collectible, updating a profile, or interacting with an app. They'll cover it. That means businesses need to continuously hold LYX to fund transactions.
Not because they're bullish. Because they need it to operate. It's no different to airlines holding jet fuel, cloud providers buying electricity, or payment companies maintaining liquidity.
LYX becomes working capital.
If thousands of businesses are running consumer applications on LUKSO, that creates structural demand that's independent of speculation.
2. Universal Profiles turn blockchain activity into everyday internet activity.
Most blockchains are dominated by financial transactions. LUKSO is trying to make blockchain the infrastructure behind digital identity.
Imagine every day you're:
• Logging into apps
• Updating your profile
• Following creators
• Receiving loyalty rewards
• Collecting memberships
• Claiming digital products
• Using branded mini-apps
If those interactions happen through Universal Profiles, blockchain transactions stop being occasional financial events. They become normal internet behaviour.
Every interaction consumes blockspace.
Every transaction ultimately requires LYX.
Mass adoption doesn't just mean "more users."
It means orders of magnitude more network activity.
3. Every successful application creates permanent LYX buyers.
This is the part I think people underestimate.
If a company has millions of users, they can't afford unreliable gas infrastructure.
They'll need:
• LYX reserves
• Relay infrastructure
• Treasury balances
• Liquidity buffers
Not to speculate. To ensure their application keeps working. That demand is fundamentally different from retail buying. It's operational. It's recurring.
And once a business depends on that infrastructure, demand becomes much less sensitive to price than speculative demand.
The real bull case for LYX isn't simply that Universal Profiles become popular.
It's that they become invisible.
Users won't know they're using blockchain.
They'll just expect everything to work.
Meanwhile, every interaction is quietly consuming blockspace, and every company building on LUKSO is quietly acquiring LYX to keep their products running.
If that vision plays out, LYX isn't just another crypto asset.
It becomes the fuel for a global identity and consumer application network.
TLDR; Buy $LYX
Any token in. USDC out. One signature.
WhoPays is a live, non-custodial payment-request app on LUKSO mainnet. Venmo-like for Web3, built on Universal Profiles.
How it is actually built, standard by standard:
Identity is your Universal Profile (LSP0 / ERC725). No phone number, no signup. On connect it reads your LSP3 metadata and shows your name and avatar.
Paying direct in USDC is an LSP7 transfer with the request reference stamped into the transfer's data memo, so the payment is tied to its request for anyone indexing the chain.
Paying in something else (LYX, wLYX, sLYX, LLI, or any LSP7 with a route): WhoPays pulls an exact-output quote from Phlox, then swaps your input to the exact USDC and sends it to the recipient in ONE Universal Profile executeBatch. LSP1 hooks fire on the router during the swap, and the swap and the tagged payment cannot be split apart. You see the max input, the 0.5% slippage, and an explorer link, then sign it in your own wallet. LSP6 Key Manager keeps every tx yours to approve.
USDC here is Bridged USDC (Hyperlane), itself an LSP7. It lands directly in the recipient's UP. WhoPays never holds funds.
Share a request by link, scannable QR, or Telegram. Fixed total or open amount, split between friends, progress live.
