FIRST LADY OLUREMI TINUBU LAUNCHES COMMUNITY FOOD BANK PROGRAMME FOR NORTH-WEST REGION IN HADEJIA JIGAWA STATE
Nigeria's First Lady Oluremi Tinubu has launched Community Food Bank Programme for the North West region in Hadejia, Jigawa state. Senator Oluremi Tinubu describes the programme as a deliberate and sustainable response to food insecurity and malnutrition among vulnerable households in Nigeria, “This initiative aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, particularly in advancing food security, improving healthcare outcomes, and building a stronger and more prosperous Nigeria. The First Lady notes that the programme aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, particularly in advancing food security and improving healthcare outcomes.”
A statement by Hamisu Mohammed Gumel Chief Press Secretary to Governor Namadi indicates that The Nigeria First Lady commends Governor Namadi for his administration's commitment to improving the lives of the people of Jigawa state, applauding the projects she commissioned during her visit which include the Senator Oluremi Tinubu Road, the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Road, Oluremi Tinubu Clinic and Dialysis Centre, and the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu Academy in Hadejia.
She also expressed confidence in Jigawa State's capacity to deliver the programme successfully, noting that the implementation recorded in Borno State—which had already enrolled 560 beneficiaries and reached 468 vulnerable children, pregnant women and lactating mothers within two months—provides a strong foundation for the nationwide rollout. She called on individuals, organisations, institutions and development partners across the North-West to actively support the initiative.
In his response Governor Umar Namadi of Jigawa State reiterated the collective commitment of the North-West states to advancing food security and enhancing nutritional outcomes for vulnerable households.
Governor Namadi described the National Community Food Bank Programme as a timely intervention that reinforces government's constitutional responsibility to safeguard the welfare of its citizens through improved access to adequate food.
Governor Namadi assured the First Lady that the Northwest Governors would provide the leadership and support required to ensure the success of the programme across the region. Highlighting the state's achievements in nutrition and child welfare, Governor Namadi disclosed that the home-grown MASAKI Nutrition Programme, implemented across 300 communities in the state's 30 constituencies, screened about 245,000 children in 2024 and more than 382,000 children in 2025, saying that the programme increased the number of children recovering from moderate acute malnutrition from about 19,000 to over 43,000 during the same period. He stated that local government councils across the region would be mobilised to work closely with state agencies and community structures to ensure that the programme becomes a dependable platform for food support, nutrition protection and social care.

🚨 Bruno Fernandes on Portugal’s attack:
“Cristiano Ronaldo is our most important player. When he’s on the pitch, I can tell you that defenders are scared. His presence alone creates space and makes things easier for the rest of us.
He attracts so much attention from opponents, which gives other players more freedom to express themselves. Having Cristiano in the team is a huge advantage because he can change a game at any moment.”
On my birthday, I am reminded that the greatest measure of a life is not the titles we hold, but the character we build, the lives we touch, and the purpose we faithfully pursue.
Growth begins when we discover who we are beyond the applause, beyond the influence, and beyond the comforts we often mistake for identity. True strength is revealed when everything external is stripped away, and what remains is integrity, resilience, and trust in Allah.
As we reflect and give thanks, let us also remember in our prayers every Nigerian child, teacher, and citizen affected by insecurity. May Almighty Allah protect the vulnerable, comfort grieving families, strengthen our security agencies, and restore lasting peace across our nation.
May Nigeria become a land where children learn without fear, families thrive in safety, and every community lives in peace and dignity.

Nigerian billionaire Aliko Dangote: "I'm a big Arsenal fan, yes, I nearly bought the team.
"When I was focused on buying Arsenal, I was also focus on the refinery get to its completion.
"At the time, Arsenal was worth about 2 billion dollars, so I asked myself: should I put my 2 million dollars in Arsenal and allow the business to suffer, or continue the business and continue to remain a very big supporter of Arsenal.
"So I decided to continue to support them, watch their games. Any time Arsenal plays, I always wear the jersey. I am a fan, it is better I remain as a fan and continue to fund my business.
"And today they are worth billions, it is not worth the while."
I am looking forward to a time when only Ndigbo will contest for the presidency of Nigeria. 'We are the only people in the South that have not produced a president; they must allow us to produce a president,' says Kenneth Okonkwo.
I am going to make all the necessary alignments to make sure somebody from the South East becomes president or Vice in 2027 and becomes President thereafter, he added.

"Removing all the bottlenecks gives you the necessary incentives for direct foreign investment into the country. This year alone, I can beat my chest that Nigeria is attracting close to $20 billion in foreign direct investments."

Nigeria’s Television landscape is about to experience a major leap forward. After many years of delay, we are finally set to complete the transition from analogue to digital broadcasting.
The long-awaited Digital Switch Over (DSO) project is now fully ready for nationwide launch, with a defining new partnership between @nbcgovng and @NigComSat1R. We now have an upgraded DSO framework, that leverages satellite broadcasting - powered by NIGCOMSAT technology.
I’m pleased to say that the new DSO platform is scheduled for official commissioning on June 17, 2026.
This is truly a new dawn for our country. President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda is leaving no sector or industry out.
Digital broadcasting is infinitely superior to analogue, in terms of broadcast quality, analytics, accuracy of audience measurement, and competition. With digital broadcasting, there’s no room for monopoly. Everybody is going to compete.
Advertisers and broadcasters can make informed programming and investment decisions while improving content delivery to Nigerians. And Nigerians will have many more content options than ever before.
Join us on this exciting journey that will permanently transform broadcasting in Nigeria.

🚨 Karim Benzema on why teammates admired Cristiano Ronaldo so much:
“There was one match with Real Madrid CF I will never forget.
I was having a difficult game. I had already missed two clear chances, and with every miss, I could feel my confidence dropping. In a stadium like the Bernabéu, you hear everything... the frustration, the reactions, the pressure.
Cristiano was already on two goals. He was one goal away from another hat-trick, and everyone in the stadium knew it.
Late in the second half, I made a run into the box and won a penalty.
Normally, nobody expected Cristiano to give that moment away. He was chasing another hat-trick, another record.
But instead, he walked straight to me, put the ball in my hands, and said, ‘Take it. You need this more than I do.’
For a few seconds, I just stood there looking at him.
I scored... and before anyone else reached me, Cristiano Ronaldo was the first one running toward me with a smile.
That’s when I understood why every teammate respected him so much.
People see his ambition, his hunger, his records... but inside the dressing room, we admired him because even in moments where he could choose himself... he sometimes chose his teammates first.”
