This woman makes a whole lot of money from packing shit. With a valuation of $4.5 million.
Before she became an entrepreneur, Bilikiss Adebiyi-Abiola spent five years working as a software engineer at IBM.
She had a computer science degree from Fisk University, a master’s degree from Vanderbilt University, and was pursuing an MBA at MIT when an idea began to take shape.
She wanted to solve a problem she had seen repeatedly in Nigeria: poor waste management.
During a development-focused project at MIT, she explored how waste could become a source of income for low-income communities rather than something people simply threw away.
In 2012, she returned to Nigeria and co-founded Wecyclers.
The idea was simple but practical. Her company used specially adapted cargo bicycles to collect recyclable waste from households in neighbourhoods where conventional collection vehicles struggled to operate.
Residents earned points for the waste they supplied. Those points could be exchanged for useful items, including food and mobile phone credit.
She was not just building a recycling business. She was creating a system that connected environmental cleanliness, household incentives and employment opportunities.
In 2013, she received the Cartier Women’s Initiative Award for Sub-Saharan Africa.
In 2017, she stepped down as Wecyclers’ CEO after being appointed General Manager of the Lagos State Parks and Gardens Agency, taking her environmental experience into public service.
Her journey shows that you don’t always need to invent something entirely new. Sometimes, the real innovation is finding a practical way to solve an old problem for people everyone else has overlooked.
Kofi Abunu, Group CEO of Chicken Republic, on why managers should take quick action when their staff does something wrong.
He says you should have a staff handbook and clear state disciplinary actions for any wrong doing by staff.
The first time a staff does something wrong, you re-train them. Second time, it's now a behavioral issue so take a disciplinary action.
God, make me the kind of man who will love and lead his wife so deeply that someone’s daughter will have nothing but beautiful things to say about being married.

You can't afford to think big for too long in Africa because by the time you have finished thinking, you will have met someone on the streets already executing the same idea. Movement and momentum are all that matter.
She Left NYC Big Tech to Sell African Sand? 😳
This “sand” is chromite ore and it’s the reason we have stainless steel, iPhones, and elevators today.
Southern Africa has 70% of it. We sell it at $200/tonne FOB and they sell it back at $5000.
What do you think 🤔
The leaner u are, the bigger u look, people treat u better, u're more confident. A sharp physique/jawline has u looking respectable. Ur sleep, digestion and thinking is all better. Lean is mean. Lean is clean. Lean is literally law.
