The 𝗥𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗣𝗲𝗽𝗲 𝗕𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗸𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 began on September 13, 2016, with the uploading of the art asset 𝗥𝗔𝗥𝗘𝗣𝗘𝗣𝗘 to the Rare Pepe Directory.

From that date, a rag-tag community of memers, artists, and cryptoheads emerged to express themselves through the medium of Pepe.

There were no leaders in the Rare Pepe Blockchain Project. Even the creator of the RAREPEPE asset took a managerial role as opposed to one of leadership.
A team of 𝗺𝗲𝗺𝗲 𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘀 emerged to verify the dankness of the incoming tide of Rare Pepes into the project.
There was no curation for taste, only to make sure that each individual Rare Pepe was to be original, humane, and above all else, dank af.
Incredible artists came to contribute their talents. Developers came to build services for the Rare Pepe ecosystem. Decentralized, distributed, without direction.

After the 𝟭𝟳𝟳𝟰th Rare Pepe, the scientists declared the project closed, in order to maintain the scarcity and dankness of the entire project.

Each Rare Pepe has unique qualities. Pepes are broken up into 𝟯𝟲 𝘀𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀, each with (mostly) 50 unique cards. Each Rare Pepe has a unique issuance number. After the early series, it became evident that issuing a Pepe with too few issues became an economic problem. Thus, a rule was created that all Pepes must have at least 100 issues. Early series rares don’t all abide by these rules, and these Pepes, such as HOMERPEPE are thus extra dank and desirable.
It is possible to destroy Rare Pepes by sending them to a malformed Bitcoin address. This makes them unspendable, removing the issues from circulation, thus, ‘burning’ them.
All Rare Pepes are non-divisible, EXCEPT for 13 rare exceptions. It soon became clear that creating divisible Pepes had negative economic consequences for facilitating a rare digital art community. Thus all
13 divisible Rare Pepes are extra rare and dank.

𝗣𝗘𝗣𝗘𝗖𝗔𝗦𝗛 is a unique Rare Pepe - it became the de facto liquidity instrument for all Rare Pepes, because of its high issuance and divisible nature. PepeCash gives you direct exposure to the Rare Pepe economy.

The Rare Pepe Blockchain Project is built on 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝘆, which is a smart-asset layer that exists on top of Bitcoin. Thus, all Rare Pepe transactions are 𝗕𝗶𝘁𝗰𝗼𝗶𝗻 transactions.

Back then, https://t.co/JniWO851Oy was the official searchable database that contains all certified Rare Pepes and https://t.co/I4x30dcGzn was the best user interface for storing, viewing, and buying+selling Rare Pepes.

Today, most people use https://t.co/n1jmMjdK66, and many also use the newer version of rarepepewallet - https://t.co/IECtkJODGw - as it allows you to connect to a hardware wallet.
