Born out of the tabloid hacking scandal, we advocate for a responsible press that stands up for the public, upholds democracy, and defends free expression.
Jacqui Hames, featured in #TheHack, is calling on the Prime Minister to put the public ahead of Murdoch, and act now to end corruption and abuse in the press.

Just had a quick browse of latest Mandy files and first thing I came across was this note sent to Wes Streeting..
Incredible how the Murdochs still retain such a grip over the British political power structure.

Of course, most breaches are never recorded. Complainant gives up on IPSO's endless process? No breach. Complainant is worn down and accepts mediated outcome? No breach. The subject of a story doesn't complain because, reasonably, they have no confidence in IPSO? No breach. The IPSO system is such a stitch up - set up and controlled by the press, to dodge any genuine accountability - these figures are virtually meaningless.
The Telegraph was the UK newsbrand with the most breaches of the Editors’ Code upheld by regulator IPSO in 2025, according to its annual report for the year
The Express website was the most complained about in 2025 with 1,417 complaints across 234 articles

New research by Opinium on behalf of @PressJusticeNow:
“When asked how the press should be regulated, the most popular option (38%) is for newspapers and their websites to be regulated by an independent statutory regulator, like Ofcom, enforcing rules laid down by law, followed by Lord Justice Leveson's solution of a non-statutory independent regulator.”

Elton John alleges in #MailTrial
“There have been many unacceptable features of this claim for David and me. The exploitation of love, connection, trust and bonds to find out information shared in confidence. The secrecy and invisibility of such evil acts that we never had a chance of catching or detecting or putting a stop to, which we would have done immediately had we known what was happening. The violation of our home and the safety of our children and loved ones.
The Mail’s publisher denies the allegations.

Sir Simon Hughes alleges in Mail Trial: “I found shocking the possibility that the targeting of me was part of wider behaviour by Associated in targeting individuals unlawfully. This was even more unacceptable in the light of the aggressive denials by all those connected with Associated who gave evidence to the Leveson Inquiry, and which I believed.” The Mail’s publisher denies the allegations.

Witness statement from Baroness Lawrence in #MailTrial: I hope that I find truth for Stephen and that The Mail never victimise or profit from someone’s grief and loss again. This is what I hope to achieve after the years of fighting in court that The Mail have put me through and an apology for what they have done to me.” The Mail’s publisher denies the allegations.

“I had also been diagnosed with psychotic post-natal depression and it was so hard to make sense of things. I am so angry that [@DailyMail publisher] Associated did this to me and thought it was okay to profit from someone going through so much pain without a thought for me or my children and the suffering they were causing me and us all.”

Pick a scandal, any scandal; Mandleson, McSweeny, just the latest in a long line...and without fail, you find media meddling.
Justice lost to silence and distraction. Buried in cosy deals between police, politicians and the press.

David Furnish statements from #MailTrial:
“To make matters worse, @DailyMail used the birth certificate story to feed into their homophobic agenda… mocked us with a caption casting me as the “mother” and Elton as the “father.” It was deeply offensive but entirely in keeping with their attitude toward us.”
