Fantastic news to end the week - @hackneycouncil are making the Hackney Downs LTN permanent. It’s been transformational for the area. Now we can build on the achievement, with new public spaces where there used to be traffic
NEW: Hackney Downs LTN will be permanent - with changes.
Following feedback from residents, there will be some important changes.
Together, we will rebuild a greener Hackney with cleaner air, healthier lives & better neighbourhoods 👊🏼✌🏾

Plans are out for some improvements to Northwold Rd and @hackneydownsltn. At @hackney_cycling we spent a lot of effort mapping where cycle #Gateways were needed. One of the locations is right here. But the proposals ignore it. Can we discuss please? @metecoban92@carowoodley
So for whatever it's worth, please take a few minutes to fill in the consultation today, and ask for action to fix this problem that we've known about for ages. Tell the council not to waste any more money finding out something we already know. Thank you

⚠️Consultation on changes to the Hackney Downs LTN closes today. While it's good to see changes being implemented, the most needed one is – inexplicably – nowhere to be seen in the consultation, so you'll need to write it in. Read on… 1/n 🧵https://t.co/QQ8sdMbKV8
Removing through-traffic doesn’t prevent people from accessing places by car. But it encourages high rates of walking and cycling, and more considerate driving. @hackneydownsltn

@kev_tape@StokeyLTN@enjoyLDNfields Most of our asks were for the end of the end of this mayoral term. Good to see early progress on cycle storage, cycle hire and a new cargo delivery hub though. Our call for a 15% traffic reduction by 2026 is now @HackneyLabour policy
