@CapturingCents It all comes down to how good the pet owner is. Could be a great pet, but if the tenants are sloppy, the pet will do more damage. We have pets in both our units and one set is great, the other not so much.

Why does a fresh, clean packet of Post-It’s feel so satisfying as compared to the mostly empty and flimsy stack? It renews my energy to make notes everywhere.

Finally got my parents to try out #travelhacking with credit cards. The final kicker was an example of how they can get flights to Paris on points. This sounds minor, but it was a tall mountain of skepticism to overcome.

So we took the risk and went with someone that would do it the way that made the most sense to us (without making us redo tons of old piping). If it bites us in the back end, so be it.

Home repairs by trade workers are such a complex beast. We had a plumbing issues that was quoted from $1400-$6000+. How the heck do you manage this stuff? If I had went with the well renowned guys, I’d be using 2 years of capex on a tiny pipe leak.

Go cheap, and you’ll probably be paying for it on the back end. I love win win, but this game seems like lose-lose.

Right on cue here, immediately after getting a big head about how easy this #househacking thing is, I get a busted pipe in my basement. First quote is approaching $4k. Gotta find a smarter way to do this...

My tenants on my garden unit renewed and I am ecstatic! It means a couple of things: 1) we are probably not awful neighbors or landlords, 2) no vacancy expense, and 3) stable tenants guaranteed. No rent increase, but thats okay since we are at the top of the market. #HouseHacking
