It was said to ʿAbdullāh ibn al-Mubārak:
"What is the best thing a man can be given?"
He replied: "An innate intellect."
It was said: "And if he doesn't have that?"
He said: "Good manners."
It was said: "And if he doesn't have that?"
He said: "Long silence."

Ibn Taymiyyah رحمه الله said,
"Even if sins are great and numerous it is not permissible for anyone to despair of the mercy of Allah no matter how great their sins may be."
[Majmu al Fatawa 16/18]
“Praise be to God, abundant praise for Your wisdom, O Allah.
When you receive an early morning call:
First call:
– Peace be upon you.
– And peace be upon you.
– “Am I speaking to Ahmed Dawood’s father?”
– “Yes.”
– “I’m Ahmed’s teacher. May I add him to the class group?”
– “I’m afraid that’s not possible.”
– “Why?”
– “Because your student Ahmed was killed by Israel.”
(The teacher falls silent, weeping 😢💔)
Second call:
– Peace be upon you.
– And peace be upon you.
– “Am I speaking to Habiba Dawood’s father?”
– “Yes.”
– “I’m Habiba’s teacher. May I add her to the class group?”
– “I’m sorry, that’s not possible either.”
– “Why?”
– “Because Habiba too was killed by Israel.” 😢💔
– “Were there others?”
– “Yes… all my family was killed by Israel. Praise be to God.”
May God have mercy on them and grant them the highest place in Paradise — our reunion will be there, God willing.”
Eiland also pointed to critical strategic missteps made months before the war, suggesting that these decisions doomed Israel’s efforts from the outset.
Giora Eiland, architect of the 'Generals' Plan': Hamas won.
In a striking admission during a press conference broadcast on Channel 12, Maj. Gen. (res.) Giora Eiland confessed that Israel lost the war in Gaza and failed to achieve its strategic objectives.
This ruthless "surrender or starve" approach turned mass suffering into a weapon of war. However, Eiland admitted that the plan disastrously backfired, with Israel unable to prevent Hamas from regrouping and rearming under the terms of the ceasefire.
