#medtwitter#osteoporosis
@DrAkhilX @anujtiwari11@Rheumat_Aravind@IlliasulK@DrSamB21@Abhilasha21822
1๏ธโฃ Do NOT start osteoporosis drugs without proper risk assessment
๐ซ Avoid starting Denosumab / bisphosphonates / any osteoporosis drug in patients with:
โข Only osteopenia
โข Low fracture risk (low FRAX)
โข Non-specific aches/pains
โข No clear risk evaluation
๐ Treat based on risk, not just the T-score.
@nileshnolkha Iโve a comment on 2nd doctor. Pt made it clear that didnโt want to take first line Rx. Made an informed choice.
Doesnโt 2nd doctor has a duty to give them next best option (as long as they went with reasonable one)
I know this is tangential to the point you making
