Commander National Strategic Command General Syed Aamer Raza, NI (M), called on the Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar @MIshaqDar50 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs today.

The DPM/FM congratulated General Syed Aamer Raza on his promotion and appointment as Commander of the National Strategic Command and wished him all the success in his new responsibilities.

They discussed matters of national security and exchanged views on regional and international developments. They agreed on the importance of close institutional coordination in advancing Pakistan’s national interests and contributing to regional peace and security.

🟥Protecting the Haramain Sharifain is the highest sacred duty for every defence partner. Deep-rooted religious and emotional bonds underpin an enduring commitment to their sanctity and security.

🟥There is no greater honour than defending the Haramain Sharifain. Pakistan approaches this responsibility with national pride, firm resolve and readiness to contribute its capabilities.

🟥Modern conflict demands the ability to counter drones, information operations and complex hybrid threats. Pakistan and Türkiye bring technological expertise, while Pakistan’s battle-hardened experience, resilience and strategic adaptability strengthen the foundation for collective defence.

🟥Resolve must translate into readiness: coordinated planning, effective intelligence sharing, technological integration and the capacity to respond decisively. These are the practical foundations of a defence alliance that can fulfil its commitments.

🟥Clear parallels exist between the Houthis, TTA, TTP where terrorist groups being used as asymmetric instruments within broader foreign-policy objectives by western and hostile intelligence agencies. Countering such threats requires the capability to identify their networks, disrupt their support and defeat their operations.

🟥Similarities exist between Israeli sponsorship of Houthis and their the alignment of with a Zionist agenda, and the TTA’s hosting of terrorist organisations demand scrutiny. The defence response must rest on verified intelligence, clear threat assessments and coordinated action.

🟥Tge stark similarities in the strategic playbook of BLA, TTA/TTP and Houthis reinforce the need for comprehensive defence against hybrid warfare. Intelligence, technology, operational preparedness and collective resolve must work together to protect regional security.

🟥The commitment is clear: uphold the sanctity of Haramain Sharifain, strengthen collective readiness and ensure that every defence obligation is backed by the means to fulfil it.

🟥Pakistan’s commitment and resolve to defend Saudi Arabia and the sacred land of Harmain Sharifain is ironclad and non negotiable. The debate about numbers and equipment is not important as the operational details must remain confidential.

🟥What is absolutely clear is Pakistan’s resolve and for that purpose Pakistan is doing and will do whatever is necessary.

Meeting of the Strategic Political and Defence Committee (SPDC) held in Riyadh

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, Chief of Army Staff & Chief of Defence Forces (COAS & CDF) of Pakistan, Lieutenant General (R) Nauman Mahmood, General Secretary of the Mecca Joint Defence Alliance, Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister for Defence, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, payed an official visit to Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia today on 5th October 2026 and attended the Meeting of the Strategic Political and Defence Committee (SPDC), established under the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement.

The meeting was also attended by the respective Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Ministers of Defence, as well as Chiefs of General Staff of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and the Republic of Türkiye.

The emergency meeting in Riyadh has decided to immediately implement collective defence commitments.

▪️ Agreed military forces and capabilities to be provided and rapidly deployed to Saudi Arabia
▪️ Collective security and deterrence strengthened
▪️ Lt Gen Nauman Mahmood (Retd.) appointed as the Alliance’s first Secretary-General for 3 years
▪️ Strong condemnation of attacks targeting Makkah, Madinah and Saudi civilian/economic facilities

The security of one is declared an integral part of the collective security of all three.
