Steamboat Springs and much of the Colorado High Country woke up to the season's first snowfall! ☃️More snow is in the forecast for the Centennial State over the next few days, with totals nearing half a foot in spots. #COwx
❄️🎄WOW! It was looking like Christmas morning in Laramie, WY earlier this A.M. as another town checks their first snow of the year off the list! Areas like Montana, Colorado & Wyoming all saw their first significant snow of the year this week!

This is becoming a monthly occurrence at this point. Yet another group of out of towners has been rescued on Mount Shasta. This time a young couple from Salt Lake City planned to day hike to the summit. They were unprepared and uniformed about the challenges of climbing this 14,179 foot peak.
They chose to climb the Avalanche Gulch route at the wrong time of day and time of year. They were unprepared for late season conditions without proper clothing, food, or water. They only had their phones to navigate which died during the night. They were rescued after being found a 1,000 feet down a volcanic gulch.
Shasta has a reputation for being an easy mountaineering objective. But easy mountaineering is very different from an easy hike. Too many people do little to no research on how to climb Shasta. The Mount Shasta Avalanche Center is routinely updated with climbing conditions that take 3 minutes to read. If any of these people did even the most basic amount of research they would find that resource.
Instead, time after time, these people come to our mountain and don’t give it the respect it requires. This put themselves and SAR at risk on a mountain known to kill the inexperienced and for a large amount of disappearances. This is the third rescue of such morons in a month. They never learn.
Will the new snow melt off? Hard to say for sure, but my guess is that most of the snow below 9000 ft and on exposed south- and west-facing slopes will melt off. However, I don't think the snow will melt off on the north-facing, shady slopes above 9000ft.
🔥🚨DEVELOPING: The Red Hot Chili Peppers 1999 song “Californication” has started going viral after fans began uploading videos of their lyrics on TikTok that truly appear to prophesied life in 2026. This is one of the craziest things I’ve seen this year.
🚨🌨️ WE REPEAT, THIS IS NOT A DRILL! 🥶
☃️ Winter is here, and it isn't just a dusting of snow. 😤 This is the crew over @SilvertonMtn, CO, TODAY, skiing the first major storm to make landfall on the Colorado Rockies this winter.
❄️‼️ Winter is here. Get ready. 🫡
