@JazRignall I think my fave was the Daley Thompson one on the 64…button bashin ahoy. Or the one on the Nes with great graphics…had clay pigeon shooting. Track and Field II I think.

This game is legendary! I lost count of the hours I spent playing it with friends, and every moment was worth it!

Andy Davidson was just 19 when he created Worms on his Commodore Amiga using Blitz BASIC.

He developed the original Worms prototype, 'Total Wormage,' right in his bedroom.

He entered it into Amiga Format magazine's Blitz BASIC contest which was flooded with entries but Total Wormage was disqualified for lacking source code.

Undeterred, Andy pitched to publishers... and heard nothing back.

Luckily for us long time Worms fans, Andy didn't give up, he closed his computer shop for a day and traveled to London for the European Computer Trade Show (ECTS) Spring 1994 to find a publishing company.

His Total Wormage Amiga game was about 80% complete on a floppy disk, he showed Martyn Brown and Debbie Bestwick at the Team17 booth and they couldn't stop playing it -they signed him on the spot. And the rest is history... with a name change, exploding sheep and a few other weapons it has become a truly iconic game franchise.

For me Worms is a defining Amiga game, but I noticed in polls I run here on X, it never rates well with voters. Are there any other Worms fans out there?
