@Sahar66664@elonmusk@kirillzzy Currently, a large number of these Iranian students, most of whom are fully funded, have been entangled in administrative processes for several months. This has caused delays in starting research and has resulted in significant losses.
@Sahar66664@elonmusk However, I have been caught up in administrative processing for several months. This prolonged administrative delay has already forced me to defer my admission once, and if it continues beyond the spring semester, I may lose my admission entirely.
@Sahar66664@StateDept@SecBlinken@DFCgov@mirjordan@DaniellaLSilva@elwasson Like most Iranian students, I am also entangled in lengthy administrative processes (around six months). If I am unable to enter the United States for the spring semester, I will likely lose my fully funded PhD opportunity.
@Sahar66664@elonmusk@NAFSA@StateDept@SecBlinken After extensive efforts in research and academia, publishing several scientific articles, obtaining an English language certificate, and undergoing lengthy interviews, I successfully secured a fully funded PhD admission.

Despite years of dedication to research projects, publishing articles, achieving strong academic scores, and earning fully funded positions at top universities,as demonstrated below, long AP prevents us from seizing these hard-earned opportunities. @RepBillFoster#IEW2024@StateDept
The issue of long Administrative Processing (AP) for Iranian students is a significant challenge, with some individuals waiting months or even years without updates or responses. This lack of transparency and prolonged uncertainty disrupts lives, delaying academic opportunities, career plans, and personal aspirations. For example, I have been waiting in AP for over 17 months, with no clear timeline or resolution. This situation highlights the urgent need for a more efficient and transparent visa process, especially for those who have fulfilled all requirements yet remain in limbo.

David Gluckman (the Director of the Immigration Practice Group at law firm McClandish Holton) said a major issue with Iranian administrative processing is a general lack of resources to handle a backlog of more than 50,000 awaiting visa decisions while only around 30 analysts are reviewing them.
“If you’re in administrative processing for US student/exchange visitor visa, there’s really no way to know what’s going on with your case and there’s really no way to know when it’s going to be completed“. https://t.co/wk7LnihGcl
Why should a student/researcher who spent most of his/her life in academia, traps in a background check for more than a year?
