Over the past year and a half, ASA has been working with a small team at the FBI called the UAP Working Group to investigate credible reports of UAP by trained observers like pilots and veterans to assist in the FBI’s investigation into national security and aviation safety risks posed by unidentified objects. Witnesses who come to ASA always decide how their case is handled, but many want their reports investigated by the FBI’s UAP Working Group.
I am heartened to see that the Trump Administration is shaping up to be the most pro UAP Administration in history, and I do not want to lose momentum on this critical work to solve the mystery of UAP. Let’s identify what’s in our skies and let the public see the X Files for themselves!
Salon: Chuck Schumer challenges Trump to declassify UFO documents. Experts say it's a good move
“Keep in mind that declassification doesn’t necessarily come with explanations…
There are thousands of classified UAP records across government agencies that would be subject to declassification by executive order and include high definition video, sensor data, official reports, and compelling testimony regarding unidentified objects with anomalous characteristics and the (secret) government programs that studied them.”

We welcome more information about this and other incidents at Americans for Safe Aerospace. We are committed to protecting the identity of whistleblowers. Link in bio.
A whistleblower came to ASA regarding a mid air collision between a Gulfstream jet and an unidentified metallic object that occurred off the coast of Florida on December 11 at approximately 27,000 feet and resulted in engine failure and an emergency landing.
There are indications that the unidentified object may have been a drone operating off the east coast with atypical characteristics.
The whistleblower is concerned because this altitude is highly regulated Class A airspace that requires flight plans and transponders, but in this instance, there were no flight plans for the object and the object was not transponding.
We can largely eliminate the possibility of common objects because:
- a weather balloon would have been transponding
- this altitude is too high for hobby drones and illegal for any drone
- there is no biological indicator of a bird strike
- video of the engine shows metal damage
I am concerned the incident is being downplayed by FAA. The report is being classified it as an “incident” and not an “accident,” which would require public announcement, investigation by NTSB, and an explanation.
What is going on here? @realDonaldTrump@FAANews@NTSB@SeanDuffyWI
Major air safety events should be handled transparently.
I joined @NewsNation this morning for @SafeAerospace to call out that recent drone sightings are just another episode in a years-running pattern of mysterious overlights of military bases and training ranges by unidentified objects that pilots and members of Congress have been raising the alarm about for years.
The New York Times writing “haha it’s just airplane landing lights in New Jersey” fails the assignment, which is to point out the elephant in the room - years of unidentified objects flying over our military bases.
Incredible to see @uncertainvector on @joerogan pushing back on the narrative.
While the White House waits it out, there has never been a more important time to pressure public officials for transparency and solutions.

“One-hundred percent it’s a threat to national security, regardless of who the operator is,” said Ryan Graves, a former Navy fighter pilot and the founder of Americans for Safe Aerospace. https://t.co/SqUbTLEHID
Good luck to the witnesses who have the courage to testify to Congress and 🇺🇸 about UFOs: to our advisors @GallaudetTim and Mike Gold, and to @LueElizondo and @shellenberger.
We hope this hearing will build on the testimony of Ryan Graves, David Fravor and David Grusch, and that talk will lead to real action on behalf of pilots, intelligence officers and the American people.
- Pilots need to be able to report UAP and the government needs to investigate (pass the Safe Airspace for Americans Act).
- Drone incursions are a threat to pilots and need to be stopped in the new administration.
- Intelligence officers need more protections to come forward about UAP because AARO failed to win their trust. (Thank you @timburchett)
- The DoD should focus on its main mission and Congress should create a civilian Review Board to handle disclosure (pass the Disclosure Act).

.@SherrodBrown gave me my first hill job back in 2009. Working for him was an absolute honor. He inspired so much love for the Midwest that I went on to spend almost a decade there on campaigns using his playbook. Thank you SB & to the incredible teams you’ve built 💔
My @SafeAerospace hoodie goes with me everywhere - here on the way to the hearings last summer with Haley.
Link in Ryan’s tweet below if you want to support ASA and get one. 🚀
I love wearing my @SafeAerospace hoodie and people have been asking me if they can buy one for over a year.
We finally got organized and are going to try a limited drop of swag through this weekend.
ASA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and our staff are volunteers. Proceeds support our witness program and our public education efforts with Congress and the media.

.@DeptofDefense pr's closed door briefing on an unclassified AARO report goes against the spirit of Congress' request. It's especially insidious when the Pentagon has a specific agenda that contradicts elements of their own report. Win the headline, sure, but at the expense of public trust.
4 UFO/UAP themed Super Bowl commercials means Madison Avenue gets it. Why not Congress?
Join @safeaerospace! We tell members of Congress how many members we have in their district who want transparency and disclosure - sign up to be counted!
If you are watching the Super Bowl and think it’s time for the government to be transparent about UFOs, join me in the world’s largest UAP organization at https://t.co/BoBZiBRlP4!
Unidentified objects in friendly airspace represent a clear and present danger to our pilots and soldiers.
UFO stigma and a Cold War mentality are unforgivable excuses for ignoring the problem. Pilots have been trying to raise the alarm for over a decade and have unfairly borne the brunt of this stigma.
As the DoD Inspector General makes clear, the U.S. Air Force and Army in particular need to institute first class solutions for detection, reporting, tracking and characterization of UAP. We note the Space Force also has a duty to report into the whole of government effort. And much more needs to be done in terms of data sharing and accountability.
We hope the DoD Inspector General investigation will motivate Congress to raise the pressure to close this domain awareness gap and be transparent with the American people about its findings.
The status quo is unacceptable.
