@jonty @tef I once wrote quite a nice driver for a speaker, taped to a mouse, such that you could 'feel' the desktop (basically pixel brightness to volts out). Was pretty good... Someone should make it better than I did...

I spent many hours discussing a 'bar wall scale' / 'player in a chair' version. Ideally running (a restricted to 2 dimensions version of) the original LEM code :)

A good ball park for gas heating by comparison is 200g / kWh. You'll see it varies around this, and is heading down over the years.

@BillyYank @bobbyllew 2 main points here are: 1) electricity can be clean and is getting cleaner. Gas cannot. And 2) the carbon intensity of electricity is already (on average) on a par with gas and that's before you include heating water at night when it's way cleaner (wind) and heat pumps.

@ericweinstein I think just planning a better future is more desirable. Looking back will just create more questions and focus attention at what is / was bad about Twitter. Tesla succeeded by making better cars, not by shining a light on the bad bits of the incumbents.
