Don’t post too much. I’ve been busy coaching these @SurreyUnitedSC 2010 BCSPL boys who won the U16 Provincial Championship yesterday. A very challenging season but their dedication to the fine details and to each other rewarded them. @BCSPL1
Coaches. As much as our job is in what and how we teach, maybe more important is what we choose not to teach. What we choose not to expose the players to. Both physically and mentally. Just because it’s out there, doesn’t mean it needs to be done. The quality of our choices equals the quality of their development. Choose wisely.
@BBCMOTD This is one of the worst decisions I have ever seen. So defenders have to spin athletically with their arms tucked in or behind their backs? Guess those human arms are a hindrance.
To put it in perspective: if a marathon champion runs 42.195 km in ~2 hours, that’s about 2:50 per km… which equals roughly 68 seconds for 400m.
A minute & 8 seconds 400m pace for 2 hours. That’s an insane 🥵
@Bighill44 Anyone watching you also learned lessons! Incredible athlete who gave his team everything and more to be the most competitive it could be. Off the field, your commitment to your family and the community cannot be understated.
@WhitecapsFC signing @esmuellert_ is the greatest move ever made in our sports community. He is a legend in the game and the fact he has chosen our club in his career path is something I still can’t believe. World is crazy right now and TM and the Caps provide a reprieve.
@Adam_Susman Well maybe I’m just dumb, but I’ve been in the same position as an amateur player. I take the shot to the head or I jump out of the way. I took the shot to the head and it probably made me dumber. It’s a handball. And really unfortunate.
@WhitecapsFC AZ is a liability on the field. He has to come off. No desire to defend with intensity and purpose. On the ball, he’s fluff. Really missing Ahmed.
@FarhanLaljiTSN I coach 16 year old athletes. Trying hard to teach the values of competing with self pride and motivation to help them achieve their goals. Observing “pros” giving sub par efforts is very tough to stomach and disappointing. They are being paid to entertain and must not forget.
@MikeHalford604 I’m impressed how the players can keep their composure with these stupid decisions. Or can they? This game can get out of hand in the 3rd.
@MLS I love our team. And obviously they should be expected to be vying for the CUP. But we are still vulnerable in the Centerback position with players who had to replace the injured regulars. The fact we are still winning says much about the depth and adaptability of the team.
He's a former pro soccer player, VP of Player Health & Performance for @warriors & father of 4 athletic kids, a couple of whom hockey fans are probably familiar with

Technical skills and athleticism are key components of any athletic sport, but what separates players is speed of thought and game intelligence. There are so many technically and athletically gifted players at the lower levels but their decision making is their challenge.
