When my daughter was about 4 we were at her well child checkup. The doctor said to her something like, “You’re sure pretty. I bet you have a lot of boyfriends”. She looked him dead in the eye with no amusement in her face and replied, “That’s really weird.”

There’s this thing Nigerians do when someone especially women speak up about something vile done to them. Suddenly, the victim must be a saint, must be holy, must be kind, free of any form of vices.
They start sanctimoniously digging for an old tweet or mistake to “taint” their victimhood.

Does someone deserve less justice because they’re flawed?

There is no perfect victim, because there is no perfect human.
