The confirmed tornado count in our warning area from December 27th-28th severe weather now stands at 24. Three of these tornado paths are only partially complete. Additionally, there are still several areas we have not yet reached, so this count is certain to increase.
This was certainly the unexpected storm of the day. A 100+ mile track supercell/tornado along the Texas coast that first developed outside of all the watch areas. Also impressive considering it was somewhat line embedded as opposed to truly discrete.
Got video coming soon, but check out this drone grab as the tornado was at peak intensity here pulling away to the Northeast as I was blocked by debris SE of Bude, MS #MSwx@NWSJacksonMS
Severe weather has been causing significant problems in the south today. A tornado caused major damage in McCall Creek, MS earlier this afternoon. Millions remain under a severe weather threat. #MSwx
Some higher resolution photos of the potentially violent Bude, MS wedge tornado. This tornado had intense motion and a very loud roar. Also exhibited horizontal vortices. #mswx
