Trans ideology and kids. A step-parent's perspective on #TransKids#GenderClinics#TERFs 🧵
Being a step parent often means that you're on the inside, but have no voice. This is as vocal as feels safe in my situation. Apologies for the long thread.1/
@Yuplifeishell And yet if you drive a car and kill someone with it you’re responsible for killing someone. If you make someone food that kills them, you’re responsible for killing someone. All actions have consequences and sex is one of them. As with all other instances, try avoiding killing.
@Yebbil13@BettsCaro We’re the parents who rejected stereotypes imposed on our babies. Our best intentions to rid ourselves of that regressive BS was used against us when creeps convinced our kids that gender non conformity meant they were born in the wrong body 😞
@DanVosnos@TrevMcKendrick@BiblicalBeauty This was my argument while pregnant and being asked to test for disabilities. If he’d been diagnosed with or gained a disability after he was born would it be suggested he’s ‘terminated’?
@FactyMcFacto Follow from me! And come to Adelaide for the Gender Health Care Summit in October if you can :) We had a ball connecting in real life last year. https://t.co/wphqScdBSx
@DanBurmawy I watched two women suffer this on an extremely hot day at the beach. Their husbands were in the water, but they were stuck looking after the kids. They eventually waded in, fully dressed, to their knees so the kids could swim, but the husbands were all topless.
@micheal_olainn Disrespecting women by pretending to be one because of some sick fetish seems peak 'men' to me. But perhaps you have to be a woman to notice it.
@KirstieMAllsopp Body-hating girls have always existed, this is just the latest iteration.
My s/daughter pretended to be a boy for a while, narrowly avoiding being medically harmed for life at 11yo and has since desisted and admitted she did it for attention. This harms females across the board.
I took a course in feminism and womanhood too, Thomas, it’s the same course 51% of the world takes when we come into the world as females. Enrolment is mandatory and we don’t get to opt out and we’re on the course until the day we die. The exams are tough, sometimes even deadly, and the coursework is relentless as we navigate the world as women and girls and learn a little more every day about how much men - not all men, but some - hate us, and a little more every day about how the odds are stacked against us and how different life is for the men and boys in our lives who move through the world with none of the disadvantages and danger that come as our birthright.
But please, do tell us about the modules you took, that have rendered you such an expert in womanhood and feminism. We’re all ears.
@grenache632311 Click your sparkly heels together three times and say 'there's no place like the women's toilets, there's no place like the women's toilets, there's no place like the women's toilets'.
@fieldnoting@JPMasters Men like this have no idea how obvious they are that they hate women. They don't care about any of us if there is an alternative that wins them brownie points with other men. Predictable and pathetic.
@JPMasters I take great offence to the assumption that it’s only the Maga Christians fighting this battle. There are many of us who are lefties, atheists, longtime feminists who see this for what it is and are disgusted at the people attempting to gaslight and punish us. We fight every day.
