🚨 GREAT: Sanseito just filed the FIRST bill of the extraordinary Diet session that opened yesterday — and they are EXPANDING former-surname use while staying OPPOSED to selective separate surnames!
The government’s draft is still VAGUE. Will it touch the family register? Will it allow a former surname ALONE on ID? Nobody can see it.
So Sanseito moved on DAY ONE. A stake in the ground, so this cannot be slid toward separate surnames later. 💥
The bill is CLEAR:
・OPPOSED to selective separate surnames
・Does NOT touch the family register (koseki)
・NO former-surname-only notation on licenses, passports, or other ID
・People who want it can still use a former surname as an alias
Same family surname stays. Daily inconvenience gets fixed. This kills the excuse that “inconvenience means we NEED separate surnames” — BEFORE that argument takes over. 👀🔥
THIS IS SANSEITO!!! 👍🏻🇯🇵
