@GuyDealership Always have to take these articles with a heavy grain of salt. A good example is 15k miles/year year, appropriate for some, while I typically put less than 5k/year year. How they match comparisons is questionable, and I’d be curious to see all opportunity cost assumptions.
@qnp@csitoronto@mercarilife There’s a wicked coffee shop with awesome views on the 21F of Edison, one of their sister buildings. It doesn’t require Aspen Club, but worth checking out as just another place to take meetings.
@isaacfrench_ Very awe-inspiring, you and your family certainly have a knack for these restorations. I think 99% of people would take one look at that and just think about knocking it down (myself included). Definitely giving me a better appreciation for all the gems around the country.
@AVibrantDreamer@Questrade@TangerineBank @TheTaxHeroes @MarkMcGrathCFP@AaronHectorCFP Happened to my dad and took them 2+ years to fix, abysmal customer service. The regional bank on one side of the transaction was terrific, the big 5 bank atrocious. He deals with ageism a lot, I can only imagine how many older persons with less spine just let these things slide.
@GiantBlueRing It’s pretty brutal, I specifically have Marriott Bonvoy credit cards for this reason, it’s Canada’s last remaining hotel card but at least opens up Kananaskis and Banff for my family. At current redemption rates for Banff / Kananaskis it’s about 0.014 ccp which is the high end.
@DaleALeckie Most underrated place on the east coast of Australia. It carries a special feeling that is hard to describe, but it was certainly the highlight of my trip down the eastern coast.
@MarkMcGrathCFP Love this! I didn’t super fund, but I always contribute $2,500 like clockwork every Jan 1st. Ages 3 and 5 and up to $49.4k. I also have critical illness policies with 100% return on premium after 20 as a $19k supplement. Autism is also covered.
The Cinnamon Bear Bakery and Cafe is a fantastic place to stock up on snacks, sandwiches and coffee on a road trip through the Crowsnest Pass in Alberta. Explored by Canada Adventure Seeker Andrea Horning.

@bloodymmabets Staying grounded and disciplined is everything in this game, and not even exclusive to sports betting, but life in general. I think we’ve all been there where we’ve had some big wins and we lose sight of the principles that got us to that position. Good but expensive lessons.
@ShawnKanungo Blockbuster and movie rental stores in general are pure family nostalgia for me. Back in those days we didn’t rely as much on movie reviews like we do now with RT and IMDb at our figure tips, it was pure roulette, often gravitating toward titles with actors you recognized 🍿📼.
@bradlinn@CraigBaird The gravy invented by Kathleen Ker of the the Crowsnest Pass was the first KFC gravy used at scale. It was used for years and while I believe some of the basic principles are still intact, I believe it’s been further industrialized for even further mass production.
