With the Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, Hon. Dr. @MusaliaMudavadi, we visited the Embassy of the State of Qatar in Nairobi to convey Kenya's condolences following the passing of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, former Emir of the State of Qatar and father of the current Amir, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
On behalf of H.E. President William Ruto, the Government and the people of Kenya, we extended our deepest sympathies to the Government and people of Qatar during this period of national mourning.
His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani will be remembered as a visionary leader whose stewardship transformed Qatar into a global force in economic development, energy and international diplomacy. His legacy of modernization, strategic leadership and global engagement will continue to inspire generations.
Kenya stands in solidarity with the people of Qatar as they mourn a distinguished statesman whose impact extended far beyond his nation's borders.
May Almighty Allah grant his family and the people of Qatar strength, comfort and peace.

Funeral prayers have been held for the Father Emir, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, at Qatar’s national mosque, attended by dignitaries, members of the ruling family and citizens, ahead of his burial at Lusail Cemetery.
We are deeply saddened by the passing of His Highness the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, the former Emir of the State of Qatar and the father of His Highness Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.
His Highness was a distinguished leader and a wise statesman. We will always remember with gratitude the value he placed on advancing relations with Türkiye, as well as his dedicated efforts toward regional and global peace and stability.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and to the people of Qatar, and we pray for Allah’s mercy upon His Highness the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.
