@AntiGaslighter@graverobberJC@FD2you @PLMilliron @julie_kelly2 That's actually not accurate. That WOULD be accurate were the presidency supreme. But see USC Articles 1-3. President as CIC is limited by those articles. The orders would ultra vires. See also Nuremberg.
@benjaminwittes This situation is more like Iraq invading Kuwait than it is like Assad slaughtering his own people. Personally, I think one reason why this crisis is getting so much attention is because we (US and allies) really thought we solved the "war in Europe" problem.
If Democrats break the Senate rules and kill the filibuster by a 50-50 vote, they will regret it. The pendulum would swing both ways, and it would swing hard. https://t.co/x2EM4EgTIc
JUST IN: White House: President Biden will order U.S. flags lowered to half-staff for 5 days in memory of 500,000 people in the U.S. who have lost their lives due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
@mjblane@kylegriffin1 Great to end the electoral college. But not the issue. DC residents have no vote in Congress (you know: in the room where it happens). But every state (thru their reps) has a vote on DC.
@MariusSatori @ciodojo@kylegriffin1 @mariussatori bad take to suggest Judge Garland doesn't know the constitution. DC residents lack any vote in Congress. Worse than that, every other state gets a vote on DC. DC taxpayers don't like that.
