The amount of self-hate Americans have towards their own history is truly unreal.
They defeated slavery by fighting against their own family.
They shut Europe out of the western hemisphere so that nations wouldn't live under colonization forever.
They had the ability to stay out of world war 1 but they went and died to help Europeans.
They had the ultimate power in the nuclear bomb. They also had access to all of Europe's colonies that were in shambles. But instead they promoted freedom. They rebuilt Japan and Germany after defeating them in war. They stood down the Soviet Union, even as the world jeered them.
They sent soldiers to places like Vietnam and Afghanistan that died TRYING to create a better world (even if you disagree with those wars, the intentions were fairly good)
And they sent more missionaries to the world than maybe any other country in history. Translated more Bibles into indigenous languages than any other country in history. Ran bigger charities than any other country in history. Created more Christian resources than any other country in history.
Whether it was stopping the Dutch from reconquering Indonesia to the Berlin Airlift to giving Cuba its freedom in the Spanish-American war to saving China from the Japanese America has at least ATTEMPTED to do good with its power.
Yes yes, America has problems. People are imperfect. But goodness gracious does the world have a lot to be grateful for in America. And when we could have taken SO much from the world we have often chosen not to. Rome, Britain, Mongols, Assyrians, Soviets, Chinese, no other group has ever shown the restraint America has consistently shown with such vast power at its fingertips.
We didn't even get into the GIGANTIC technological advances, consumer advances, convenient lifestyle changes America has pioneered. From electricity to space to the light bulb to the smart phone to many cures in medicine and agriculture to the airplane the world has been enormously blessed by America.
Turns out it wasn’t Israel as Al Jazeera reported. It wasn’t US as Iran reported.
It was a failed launch by the IRGC that fell back to the ground and struck the elementary school.
The elementary school is attached to an IRGC naval base
So I just want to make sure I have this straight. Under Obama:
- 56 people died in ICE custody due to horrible conditions according to the right leaning ACLU.
- 3.1 million people were deported and more then half of them were deported without a hearing or a judge or due process.
- his guy was Tom Holman same as now and he received the Presidential medal of freedom.
- every Democrat run sanctuary city cooperated with ICE.
Tell me again how this is not a manufactured outrage communist revolution.
People across Venezuela are celebrating that communist narco-dictator Maduro has been captured by America, and they are finally free.
Don’t let anyone tell you Trump didn’t do the right thing.
This could be the most pathetic reporting I have seen. The reporter calls the daycare centers to ask them if they are legitimate. I kid you not. How is this supposed to determine whether fraud is taking place? Are they expecting the centers to say ‘Yes. We are committing fraud.’
Six of seven don’t even answer the phone.
The media has and continues to fail us.
If you’re a liberal and want big, well-funded social programs, you can’t tell people that billions in fraud is no big deal and that Trump’s corruption is also bad. Both are true, and ignoring one just tells voters you’re not serious about their tax dollars.
My main problem with #StrangerThings5 is that they’re trying to have 14 different main characters.
I don’t care about Robin and nurse girl.
I don’t care about Jonathan and Nancy.
I don’t care about Hopper and Joyce.
Holly is fun, but she didn’t speak until S5 and now gets like 50% of the screen time.
The show was built around “the party” and Eleven. And now they’ve made half the main characters invisible and the important relationships nonexistent.
Ever wonder how they make soybean oil edible?
Soybeans contain 18-20% oil. Problem: It smells like paint, tastes like metal and fish.
Cannot be eaten in natural state.
Step 1: Hexane Extraction
Hexane is petroleum solvent. Same family as gasoline.
Soybeans are crushed and bathed in hexane at high temperature. Dissolves the oil out.
Traces of hexane remain in final product.
You're eating petroleum solvent residue.
Step 2: Degumming
Oil contains phospholipids that make it cloudy. Add phosphoric acid or caustic soda. Creates sludge that settles out.
Chemical treatment to remove natural compounds.
Step 3: Refining
Add more caustic soda (lye). Creates soap that's skimmed off.
Removes free fatty acids, pigments, remaining phospholipids.
Also removes any vitamins or beneficial compounds that somehow survived.
Step 4: Bleaching
Oil is still coloured and contains oxidation products.
Solution: Filter through bleaching clays and activated carbon at high temperature.
Removes colour. Also removes any remaining nutrients.
Step 5: Deodorizing
The oil still smells terrible. Like paint, fish, metal.
Solution: Heat to 450-520°F under vacuum for 30-60 minutes.
This "steam distills" the volatile compounds causing smell.
Problem: This temperature oxidizes the polyunsaturated fats. Creates trans fats and oxidized compounds.
The final product: Neutral-tasting oil stripped of everything, including things that would indicate it's spoiled.
Compare to butter: Milk → cream → churn → butter.
One ingredient. One process. Edible in natural state.
Seed oils require: Petroleum solvents, acids, bases, high heat, bleaching clays, vacuum distillation.
To make inedible seeds into something that won't immediately poison you.
And we call this "natural" and "healthy."
Meanwhile butter is "processed" and "unhealthy."
The food that requires a chemical factory to be edible is natural.
The food that requires a wooden paddle is processed.
Make it make sense.
Charlie Kirk's wife Erika forgave the man who shot her husband at a funeral which a leftist influencer is comparing to a Nazi rally.
This is the contrast that is turning the country away from progressive/leftist liberalism.
Your rhetoric is so corrosive because you sneakily never use words like “earn” or “reward”. Instead you always favor helplessness words like “give”.
In everything you say, it’s clear you hate personal agency - it is always about the invisible hand of big brother coming to the rescue. And of course you should control that hand.
To set the record straight, for Elon to earn that kind of money, many tens of millions of people on earth will need to buy Elon’s products and pay for it with their hard earned money. In order for that to happen, his products will need to be revolutionary, cheap and superior on multiple dimensions. This is not obvious or straightforward.
So, if that happens and then people buy Tesla products, they will now do so also knowing that some percentage of the profit goes to the CEO of that company.
It couldn’t be more transparent and obvious.
