Late last year has been a rollercoaster, and life hasn’t given me a break since I lost my job. But what’s most paramount to me right now is what I’m about to share with you.

We found out my mom has ovarian cancer. I was in serious disbelief until more tests showed it’s at stage 4, and nothing has been the same since for her.

We’ve already spent a lot on tests and medications to help her regain weight before she starts major treatment. Each day has been pain upon pain for her, and it has broken me into pieces every single day. We’ve spent about ₦1.1M already in total, without the actual procedure even starting.

At this stage, we need ₦15.45M for the next four months for her procedure. The diagnosis and cost breakdown are below this tweet.

I know this is a crazy situation, but please, I want to save my mom. She called me crying in pain, begging if there’s any way I can help her, and this is my only option at the moment. Please, I’m begging with everything in me, help me. Either by donating or retweeting, it will go a long way.

I was meant to get a ping this morning but i didn't then it just got me troubleshooting my implementation

Everything worked fine locally. But when I deployed to @render, the app got auto-sleeped due to inactivity (cause i'm on a free plan). 😴

I set up a new cron-job to make an HTTP call to a /run-tvl-check route once a day and removed the internal cron i had setup using node-cron.

I also secured the route with a CRON_SECRET so only my cron can trigger it, keeping it asleep most of the time until it is triggered

there is this project i just got onboarded on and they don't have a dev environment and now i want to test some of the endpoints and now i have to use real life data and if i create a dummy one i have to delete it. this is so messy

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned as a frontend developer is how easy it is for a communication gap to form between designers, engineers, and managers, and how costly that gap can be.

Here’s a situation I’ve seen more than once:

What I’ve learned:

- Always align with the designer before implementing visual or UX changes, even if the request seems minor.

- Push for source-of-truth conversations, if it’s not updated in Figma, it’s not final.
