Graham Potter inevitably taking plenty of criticism. Losing a Derby 5-1 is humiliating. West Ham lacked organisation, belief and identity. Tactically inept. Six days to prepare to combat Chelseaโs obvious strength on the counter, quick wingers and overlapping full-backs, and their threat at corners ... and then shambles. Potter has to take responsibility for that.
West Hamโs board/recruitment dept also culpable: for giving the head coach a defence with minimal leadership, fight or concentration, a midfield with no pace and an attack with no vibrancy, clean injury record or future. West Ham have no spine.
But players also have to take individual responsibility. They didn't do their jobs. They didn't concentrate. Wan-Bissaka poor marking for first three Chelsea goals, Aguerd all over the place all night and Hermansen weak for last three goals. Paqueta doesnโt help out of possession.
Only Bowen, Diouf, Potts emerged with reputation intact. Why not give home-grown Potts, 21, more of a chance? He definitely cares about West Ham. It's in his claret-and-blue blood. And the team and club need more of that heart. #WHUFC #CFC #WHUCHE
