📍#Somalia: Nearly 2 million children are facing acute malnutrition, while conflict, displacement and drought continue to push families deeper into crisis.
Yet this WFP warehouse stands empty, and @WFP_Somalia teams can barely support 1 in 10 people in acute need.
More support is urgently needed to help avert catastrophe.
WFP Acting Executive Director @WFPChief visited Burhakaba, one of Somalia’s most critical hunger hotspots, to draw attention to the escalating hunger and malnutrition crisis. With famine risk identified and nearly 40 percent of children under five acutely malnourished or worse.
Some days, this work can be heartbreaking. But what stays with me most is the resilience of the people we serve and the compassion of the colleagues who refuse to look away. As a humanitarian,I've learned that hope isn't something we give, it's something we help protect. #WHD2026
