#Exclusivecoverage An incredible day at Malaysia’s 68th Independence Day and the Taste of Malaysia Festival in Dublin! From cultural performances to delicious food and great conversations with ambassadors & guests
Thank you, Your Excellency Wan, for the kind invitation. Delighted to have covered the 58th ASEAN Day. It was an honour meeting the new Ambassador of the Philippines to Ireland (who also served in Pakistan for six years), as well as the soon-to-be Ambassador of Vietnam.
Tánaiste Simon Harris appreciated our work with The Irish Insider. It was a pleasure meeting him and other distinguished guests at the 4th of July Celebration at the U.S. Ambassador’s Residence.
Happy Independence Day!

After leaving acting in Pakistan, I had no money, no job, and no clear direction. I started working at a car wash — in fact, two of my TV dramas were on air at the time: one on Express TV and another on Hum TV — and there I was, washing cars.
Could I have gone for a “better” job? Maybe. But I’m glad I chose that path. Just like the dirt on those cars, my ego was washed away too. The best part? I didn’t tell anyone — no one knew. In fact, I even took 12 days off to finish some unfinished projects during that time.
The reason I’m sharing this today is simple: No matter where you are in life, embrace it. Don’t fall into self-pity. Keep your head down and work hard.
Yes, I had to push myself — learning camera work, editing, graphics, marketing, content packaging, and more. Today, I run two companies with 17 team members, and we’re doing everything we can to deliver the best service to our clients. With The Irish Insider, we’re telling stories — and soon, we’ll be sharing Irish history, language, news, and more.
I never wanted to brag about what I’m doing, because there’s still a long way to go. But I’ve seen too many people fall into self-pity, and I felt it was important to write this.
So, never lose hope. Believe — and smile.

The situation for Palestinians in Gaza is beyond description, beyond atrocious & beyond inhumane.
A policy of siege & starvation makes a mockery of international law. The blockade against humanitarian aid must end immediately.
This is a moment for moral clarity & action.

New pedestrian lights that illuminate the footpath are now in place on Tara Street in Dublin.
The lights aim to alert distracted walkers, especially those looking at phones, by shining red at crossings.
Dubbed ‘zombie’ traffic lights, the system mirrors designs in other European cities and is part of a wider effort to improve road safety.
India launches Operation Sindoor after 26 killed in Kashmir attack, blaming Pakistan for the violence. The strikes hit targets in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, triggering major tensions between the nuclear neighbours.
