We really need to stop making it so hard for NHS staff to go to work
A huge number of NHS workers have to cope with inadequate public transport, insufficient and unsafe parking for cars and bikes, and exorbitant costs
Something needs to be done urgently - please RT if you agree
@ShaunLintern Fine as long as every new ambulance that comes we get to send a patient to AMU. In turn AMU can send one to a specialty ward and in turn again they have to discharge one.
@jim_crawfurd@ShaunLintern Delays in offload are rarely caused by the ED these days… if we could offload ambulances we would, and pressure from management or from ambulance services fails to acknowledge most ED’s are simply full and there is no space.
If this is Labour's plan for managing the looming winter crisis, then I am horrified.
This isn't fixing the problem, it's passing the buck, placing intolerable pressures on my colleagues in A&E & risking the lives of the patients stranded in corridors.

The relative risk of ambulance “drop and go” policies vs a more balanced harm reduction approach is unknown. The solution is ⬆️ hospital capacity (more beds, shortened length of stay), not increasing tension within stressed systems. An Emergency Department is not a tardis. 2/3
Israeli troops have directly targeted medical staff in Gaza while they are at work. Here a colleague describes how the ambulance he was in came under attack. He was shot three times and has been left with a devastating leg injury which cannot be properly treated in Gaza.

Rats in a sack!

Got back to Brum from Greenland, then was burgaled while sleeping. All camera gear, laptops, cards, passports, taken. My lovely van too: crucial to kayak trips & full of gear. It's distinctive, so if anyone near spots this grey VW Transporter with kayak racks please get in touch!
