Nowadays editors chop, chop, chop into synthetic, clinical sentences that have no character or drama.
According to the findings, 60.9% of Black women say they wear their natural hair all the time, and 79.5% feel very confident doing so in public, even on a first date. No stress, just showing up as we are.

Idk what editor told me this back when I first started writing but, they essentially said:
"You tell the reader what to care about, they don't tell you what to care about"
And sometimes, I think writers/publications forget that for a variety of reasons. But it shows everytime..
