Abdullah v SSHD (UI-2022-006321). UT agrees with @AIRECentre that where deportation is contrary to EUSS rules & not justified under reg. 27 means it is “not in accordance with the law” & so any article 8 appeal succeeds. HR appeals should also be stayed to catch up with EUSS.

DSC's International Women's Day Celebration is back for 2024!

Every year, we bring together a diverse group of lawyers, judges, politicians, campaigners & academics to explore what more the law can do for women and girls. #IWD2024

Our panel discussions will include the use of AI to exploit women, a feminist vision of climate justice, a comparative analysis of the crime of abortion and an in conversation with @HelenaKennedyKC and @christinalamb, leading foreign correspondent and author of “Our bodies, their battlefield - what War does to Women”.

Our guest speakers include @stellacreasy, Andrea Simon, Director at End Violence Against Women, Katie de Kauwe, lawyer at Friends of the Earth, @DrEmmaMilne, Associate Professor in Criminal Law and Criminal Justice in the Durham Law School, and @tessakhan, Founder and Executive Director of Uplift, with more to be announced, including our Keynote address.

This year, we are supporting @CleanBrk as our selected charity for #IWD2024. Clean Break was founded by two women in prison who believed in the power of theatre to transform lives. They use theatre to keep the subject of women in prison on the cultural radar, helping to reveal the damage caused by the criminal justice system.
