Repeat after me Jeffrey : “I’m announcing shortly that we’re going back to work to try to pull Northern Ireland back from the brink of collapse. Anyone with a better idea can go and explain it to some overwhelmed medics some night at A&E. Tweet that out ya wee melt”
"Teacher forced to quit job after chronic condition linked to sewage pollution - as sickness reports nearly triple."
The chair and CEO of @Ofwat are due to appear before the @CommonsPAC at 3:00pm today. Should be interesting.

All last week people have been complaining about the mismanagement of the moors.
#Burning and #Draining for shooting and sheep has degraded their ability to protect #Sheffield from flooding.
#SlowTheFlow@IUCNpeat
They just don’t care at all . Not about the planet , not about ecology and not about all the kids with asthma in Sheffield . It’s time to shut this down . @BerzinsBob@RaptorPersUK@RSPBbirders
Along with the Cubbington Pear Tree which won tree of the year in 2015 and was felled for HS2 in 2020 we have lost 2 iconic trees in the last few years...speaks to a symptomatic disregard for these old giants
Tell me that handcuffing this woman is a proportionate response to a suspicion of an unpaid bus fare, a fare it was later proven she had paid.
Another example of how black people disproportionately treated by the @metpoliceuk. Their explanation is unacceptable.
On our 2-way question, Britons prefer water firms being run in the public sector than private sector by 69% to 8%
Run in public sector: 69% (+10 from 2017)
Run in private sector: 8% (-17)

“It is difficult to see how Britain would be in the position it is in now – weakened politically and economically … –if a truly independent and accountable press had provided the necessary checks on power all healthy democracies need.” https://t.co/JjB44H3GUN
Now we know that the weekend's arrests included not only people demonstrating peacefully but volunteers handing out rape alarms and a journalist with a press badge covering a protest.
The silence from the "protect free speech!" right is, once again, deafening.
Literal shit is pouring into our seas. Every single UK river is chemically polluted. Yet last year private water firms almost *trebled* shareholder dividends, meaning less money invested in upgrades. Time to bring water back into public hands. @We_OwnIt

You know how we warned that making “locking-on” an offence and giving police powers to make arrests on suspicion of it would mean people being arrested just for carrying bike locks and craft supplies, and everyone was like “nah you’re overreacting, the police wouldn’t do that”…
We need a full independent inquiry into the killing of these two dogs & the tasering of this man by the Met Police in a residential area in East London on Monday. The police have provided no evidence the dogs attacked any member of the public or other dogs. We cannot have groups of police officers hunting down dogs with shot guns in residential housing areas, without clear evidence of a real danger to the public @metpoliceuk@SadiqKhan@RSPCA_official
The video circulating tonight of the Met police shooting two dogs & tasering a man is horrifying. I can’t bring myself to tweet it but it should be watched.
With the Tories & Labour determined to allow the police totalitarian powers, we must ask- who will police the police?
Whether you're a Monarchist or a Republican, the arrest of peaceful protestors today should concern you greatly.
The right to protest is a cornerstone of our democracy; from the Suffragettes to Tolpuddle, speaking out against power is a proud tradition to be celebrated.
Protest is fundamental to democracy.
People must have the right to oppose having an unelected head of state, or more than £100m of public funds being spent on a coronation when millions rely on food banks.
These arrests should concern us all.
