@bonzack think that's just a light on the capsule. remember the camera shows most of orion in frame. that dot would be in line with the moon so you aren't seeing anything behind it
I captured the ARTEMIS 2 ORION CAPSULE with my backyard telescope!
tracked it for about two hours on Friday morning when the astronauts were ~110,000 km from Earth. Pretty wild to think that 4 humans are onboard that little dot. @NASAArtemis@zwoastro
@mimi_teaching@NASAArtemis@zwoastro I'd say just go anywhere where you're not right in the middle of streetlights like a beach or big park and bring binoculars, they 50x your ability to see things :)
@TheOhmLawless@NASAArtemis@zwoastro Definitely only with the telescope and a long exposure. These were 30 sec exposures, could've probably gotten away with 10-20 sec.
@CrypTony716@NASAArtemis@zwoastro Real and yeah it's pretty cool. Capsule was around magnitude +12 which is like a faint but easily detectable star if you have a telescope
