@sashameetsrus Definitely can’t say that about Russia. No new leader for quarter of a century, and X/Twitter is blocked by the government so no risk of illegal tweets! Very democratic!
@PawlowskiMario I think when the West did not really respond to crimea, nor to the use of chemical weapons and other crimes in Syria, Putin thought we wouldn’t react to FSI either. And he was right, we didn’t. Not until Ukraine stepped up and fought like a lion, then we slowly did.
@Euan_MacDonald@sashameetsrus Some think tank, I forget the name, estimated that 16000 Russian women die from domestic violence every year. So glad that Alexandra feels safe
@bagshaw2112 No no, at least we have meaningful elections. And people can make fun of our politicians without mysteriously becoming dead. Ordinary Russians would give a lot for that I’ll bet.
@sashameetsrus Oh so now you care about children being killed? Russia have been killing (and stealing) children in Ukraine for 4 1/2 years. And not by accident.
@dlLambo 1. Yes - Russia already started a war in Europe remember?
2. Yes. Russia specialises in sub threshold attacks. Disinformation, election interference, cyber attacks, targeted assassinations and so on; to attack, bully and divide the West without triggering a military reaction.
@CraigMurrayOrg Oh so you’re now in favour of exercising right of passage in recognised sea lanes? I struggle to keep up since just five years ago you held very different views.
@sashameetsrus To be fair, Putin has had a lot more opportunity to practise than most leaders, given that he has been in power for over a quarter of a century. Very diplomatic!
@sashameetsrus It’s so embarrassing when a self styled internet journalist tries to take on the real thing and thinks it’s some sort of gotcha, mistaking his polite honesty for weakness and hidden agenda. Why don’t you engage with some of his excellent reporting on the Kremlin?
@Pascal_Laurent_ The irony is, that we are opposed to the imposition of lists of jobs forbidden to women, and I am against the decriminalisation of domestic violence (both of which the Russian state has done), therefore we support Russian women a lot more than you do.
@sashameetsrus Fun fact: @MSF share the locations of their field hospitals with warring parties in order to prevent accidental targeting. During the recent war in Syria they had to stop doing this because every time they shared the location of a hospital, the Russians bombed it.
