The biggest source of edge I’ve had in investing is realising that the rules or societal norms that exist today do not exist forever.
In fact they don’t last very long at all.
Basically anything we viewed as weird or dystopian or in some cases illegal is likely a few short years away from being seen as completely normal if the technology is sufficiently disruptive.
You just have to keep an open mind and remember that humans are infinitely adaptable and the spread of stories and narratives is one of the things the human species is uniquely good at.

We already have to pay the government to watch tv anyway, you should stop doing that and make that free instead.
People generally ask as if it’s a hobby they can pick up in their spare time rather than a thing you dedicate every single hour of every single day learning over multiple years.
If most traders are honest with themselves if they put equivalent time into a business or something else they’d likely do just as well.
The exception is early crypto / DeFi summer / NFTs etc where it was possible to make extreme amounts of money very quickly from a small starting position.
