Speaking from personal experience, I don’t understand how the Catholic Church can advocate for families to have a lot of children, and encourage mothers to stay home, but also make their schools unaffordable for many families on a single income.

The laws of fasting are meant to help us give an offering to God, not to worry about whether something counted as a meal or not and if we're going to hell for it. Offer your fasting tomorrow, following the rules, but living out of love for God and not fear of scruples.
I join with Pope Francis, my brother bishops in the United States, and all people of good will in praying for peace in Ukraine, and noting that Ash Wednesday, March 2, will be a special day of prayer and fasting for an end to this tragedy.
