You’ve read the books.
You’ve bookmarked the threads.
You’ve watched the podcasts, bought the courses, studied the frameworks, saved the quotes, written the goals.
You KNOW more than enough.
And yet…
Your life still looks DANGEROUSLY similar to how it looked last year.
Same ideas sitting untouched.
Same opportunities passing by.
Same promises that THIS TIME you’re finally going to do it.
Still waiting for the lucky break.
Still waiting for everything to “click.”
Still waiting to become the person you already KNOW you could be.
So let’s cut the bullshit.
YOU DO NOT HAVE AN INFORMATION PROBLEM.
You cannot read your way out of this.
Another podcast won’t save you.
Another productivity system won’t save you.
Another morning routine, ice bath, habit tracker, journal, or copy of Atomic Habits won’t save you.
Because you’ve spent YEARS trying to solve a SUBCONSCIOUS PROBLEM with CONSCIOUS INFORMATION.
Imagine running a marathon with three enormous hurdles planted across the track.
You’re strong enough to finish.
You’re fast enough to WIN.
But you keep staring at the horizon.
So every time you reach one of those hurdles…
BANG.
Face-first into the ground.
You get back up.
Run harder.
BANG.
Fall again.
And eventually, after eating dirt enough times, you start wondering whether there’s something wrong with you.
There isn’t.
YOU JUST HAVEN’T TRAINED YOURSELF TO CLEAR THE FUCKING HURDLES.
And there are 3 of them.
HURDLE #1: SELF-DOUBT
You see what you should do.
You FEEL the impulse.
You’re almost ready to move.
Then the voice arrives:
“What if this doesn’t work?”
“What if I can’t pull it off?”
“What if I’m wrong?”
That tiny hesitation is enough.
The window CLOSES.
The moment DIES.
Another opportunity gets BURIED.
HURDLE #2: DAYDREAMING
You’re so busy thinking about the life you want that you miss the pieces of it already sitting RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU.
The person you should call.
The idea you should pursue.
The opening nobody else noticed.
The resource you forgot you had.
The move staring you directly in the face.
You could be sitting on a GOLD MINE while fantasising about finding gold.
And that is exactly how people spend YEARS waiting for opportunities they’ve ALREADY been given.
HURDLE #3: THE STORY
This one is especially vicious.
Because after you fail to move, your mind has to give you a reason WHY.
So it manufactures a story.
“The timing isn’t right.”
“I’ll wait until payday.”
“I need to research it more.”
“I’ll come back to this.”
“I’ll start Monday.”
And because the story comes from inside your own head…
you believe it.
Again.
And again.
And AGAIN.
Until weeks become months.
Months become years.
And suddenly you realise you’ve spent a terrifying amount of your LIFE preparing to become someone you could have started becoming YEARS AGO.
Some people eventually mistake these patterns for their personality.
They say:
“That’s just how I am.”
Fuck that.
A hurdle is NOT an identity.
A hurdle is something you LEARN TO CLEAR.
And once you can SEE the hurdles…
You can train yourself to LEAP over them.
Because nobody wins a race by stopping in front of every hurdle and intellectually analysing it.
You train the RESPONSE.
You see the hurdle.
You JUMP.
You see another.
You JUMP.
Until the thing that used to STOP you becomes something you instinctively CLEAR.
THAT is exactly what the latest RubiPill release was built to train.
OPPORTUNITY PILL
Trains your mind to SEARCH.
To notice openings.
To recognise leverage.
To see resources, connections and possibilities hiding in plain sight.
To develop an OPPORTUNITY CONSCIOUSNESS that automatically searches your environment asking:
“WHAT CAN I DO WITH THIS?”
Because opportunity is EVERYWHERE.
The question is whether your mind has been trained to SEE it.
CARPE DIEM PILL
This is the AXE.
It trains a bias toward ACTION.
See it.
Choose.
MOVE.
Instead of watching another opportunity disappear while you THINK about it
YOU SEIZE IT.
SNEAKO desperately needed to hear this.
Muslim for 3 years, and wants to debate people.
Khabib understands him as “YouTube bullshit guy” AKA this is someone that turns their life into a performance. That is what these influencers are. Circus tricks. Clowns.
I recall Clavicular saying “There is no point in doing anything unless I can turn it into content.” This is an extremely cucked way to go through life. This is how most of them think.
The influencer lives life in third-person. Always considering perception, audience, content, and prioritises clicks, clout, and virality far above anything else.
The most basic form of this “living-for-others-ness” is clip farming. Saying or doing things specifically because it’ll make a good 30 second clip, and will keep them relevant for that week.
But what you have to understand is, the influencer essentially “clip farms” his whole entire life. And nobody is a better example of this than SNEAKO.
Which Khabib clocked in 10 seconds.
He can smell the performance on SNEAKO.
And gave him the best advice possible:
“If you are as genuine about your commitment to this tradition as you proclaim you are… Shut up. Realise how much more there is to go. And go learn properly.”
This is a theme I’ve harped on about for quite some time:
Shut up. Stop talking. Adopt the mindset of a student.
Humbly seek mature counsel, people who have been doing it for far longer than you have. Ask a ton of questions.
Integrate in private. You do not need to broadcast every stage of becoming.
Develop some fucking imposter syndrome, PLEASE.
We have A SEVERE LACK OF IMPOSTER SYNDROME on social media. And that is terrible.
I’m not talking about the neurotic paralysing kind of imposter syndrome, but rather, that humble voice in your head that says,
“Maybe I don’t know what the fuck I’m talking about yet?”
We would all GREATLY benefit from MORE people having this kind of imposter syndrome.
Since the release of TED talks we’ve overcorrected on confidence and produced armies of beginners who have developed a dunning-Kruger arrogance in thinking they are masters.
As a result of this, we are currently drowning in a sea of self-appointed experts.
Everyone is a coach now. Everyone is a mentor. Everyone has discovered the magic framework and Everyone is qualified to teach you how to live.
People who are not yet even 25 years old are hosting retreats on how to live a meaningful life.
People who have barely encountered any hardship in their lives are out here teaching resilience.
People whose entire body of work is just TALKING about the work, are actually delusional enough to be charging people to learn from them.
Quite frankly, this is fucking DISGUSTING.
No apprenticeship. No decade in the trenches. No substantial body of work. And perhaps most importantly,
No evidence that their philosophy (and it’s a stretch to call it that) survives contact with REAL LIFE.
You SHOULD feel like an imposter when you’re 23 years old charging people thousands of dollars to sit in a circle while you dispense ancient wisdom you heard on a podcast 6 months ago.
That discomfort is not necessarily “insecurity.”
Sometimes it is your brain CORRECTLY identifying that you have NOT earned the authority ur pretending to possess.
BRING BACK IMPOSTER SYNDROME.
Bring back APPRENTICESHIP.
Bring back sitting down and SHUTTING the FUCK up.
Bring back spending 10 years getting good at something before deciding you’re qualified enough to teach it.
Learn first.
Speak only when you have something worth saying.
This post IS going to trigger people. Fact.
It WILL ruffle feathers.
It WILL offend.
It WILL induce some long due self-awareness in those that feel specifically targeted by this post.
GOOD. It was, and is, desperately needed.
Please, BRING BACK IMPOSTOR SYNDROME.
Conduct an experiment:
Pretend.
Pretend that you’re capable of more. Pretend that you’re destined for greatness. Pretend that everything you do will work out perfectly for you, with or without your conscious effort applied. Pretend that every single thing in the universe is coordinating together for your maximal growth and enjoyment.
Just pretend.
Was recently explaining to one of my $16k coaching clients the numerous factors and aspects involved in storytelling at the master level…
And chiefly, ABOVE all else -
BEFORE you start telling anyone about anything…
The FIRST thing you need to do
Is ASSESS your audience & establish:
A - HOW MUCH CONTEXT do I need to add? Time period. Location (broad), location (specific), Characters. Their relationship to you. Their role in the given environment. Etc etc
B - HOW FAMILIAR ARE THEY with the subject at hand. How long have they been studying/practicing/working in/involved in the thing you’re talking about. What jargon needs to be explained. What concepts need to be elaborated on. How deeply do you need to link causes with their effects.
If you fail to take A into account?
You’ll lose their attention. The picture you paint will either be foggy (too little) OR painfully boring (too much).
If you fail to take B into account?
You will destroy all rapport with them. You’ll either be speaking at a level that goes way over their head (concepts not explained well enough) OR you’ll insult/offend them by assuming they’re a beginner (too many concepts explained) while giving a subtext of “I have not done any due diligence in understanding how much you already know, either BECAUSE I don’t care OR because I can’t see it. I’m either rude or ignorant.”
Here’s a magical line for B that will save your ass:
“As you know…”
As you know allows you to explain concepts to people that already know them for the sake of emphasising certain points in the story.
This works well to actually BUILD rapport because it says “I know you’re not dumb and respect your knowledge here.”
Trump does this very well, with a line of
“[Concept/Subject] … and you’d probably know that better than anyone, right?”
10/10 line.
Also very useful when talking to a mixed crowd, is:
“As most/some of you already know.. [explain concept at beginner level for the noobs in the room.]”
It is absolutely paramount. Before you tell a story, ask yourself and ASSESS YOUR AUDIENCE:
How much context do I need to lay down?
How deeply do I need to explain the concepts involved?
This is the FIRST aspect to master if you want to be an elite storyteller, public speaker, and persuader.
CONTEXT & CONCEPTS.
Namaste.
RIGHT NOW, THESE are THE most exciting times on earth since the era of Atlantis. The primary marker that distinguishes NOW from previous ages is the other-worldly (literally!) speed of information. Max global access. Conversations across continents. Instantaneous access to knowledge etc everyone incarnated into this period for a great big party of levelling up on extreme mode,
…and it’s about to get even wilder.
What will be, will be.
A very true line. However - it makes no commentary on the fact that you have always have the ability to exercise THE CHOICE to actively participate in bringing things into being.
Do you understand?
Train yourself to see every setback as the seed for even greater opportunity and success.
I went to go do a thing.
Turned down.
Sought alternative.
And found 100x greater than what I was originally planning to find.
Life does that on PURPOSE.
Train this perspective.
There are “people” out there who think it’s acceptable to rip off me & my work.
They assume they can get away with it.
They’re mistaken.
Starting today,
In addition to my current set of commitments and responsibilities…
I WILL NOW MAKE IT MY MISSION TO ENSURE THAT:
THOSE WHO CHOOSE TO PRESENT MY WORK AS THEIR OWN WILL NEVER KNOW PEACE.
If you’re going to borrow from me, cite me.
If you’re going to steal from me, MAKE SURE YOU’RE COMFORTABLE AND WILLING TO ACCEPT ANY AND ALL CONSEQUENCES OF BEING CAUGHT.
You’re on notice.
I’ll be seeing you. :-)
Namaste.
