The surge in anti-Indian hate here has a few factors:
1. There are a ton of Indians on the internet, so any conversation about them good or bad will drive engagement
2. The woke Left & woke right hate Indians. Notice that very few “anti-racism experts” are defending Indian Americans, it’s mostly centre Left liberals
3. India/Hindus have ideological enemies backed by state actors. All influencers I’ve suspected of being funded by Qatar, Pakistan or China are right in the middle of things.

For the Indian American and Canadian communities this is the epitome of “you can ignore politics, but politics won’t ignore you”. Pretty much every radical faction of modern politics hates you, and you don’t have the luxury of just getting a good job and ignoring these things anymore.
