I think we need to be a little more responsible with the kind of things we put out on this app.
Looking through the replies, it’s clear that a lot of people genuinely believe this is real, and that’s where the joke stops being as simple as “just banter.” In an environment where misinformation can spread incredibly quickly, something posted as a joke can easily be reposted, taken out of context and eventually presented as an actual event.
Because once something like this leaves your page, you can’t control where it goes. People have already saved it, others will repost it, and six months from now someone could see a screenshot with no context whatsoever and confidently use it as evidence of something that never happened.
I’m not saying people shouldn’t joke or have fun on this app. But surely there has to be a line somewhere, especially when the joke is realistic enough that people genuinely cannot tell whether it’s real or not.
Personally, I’ll never do this to you, so why this?
