Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior is an absolute thrill ride from start to finish. George Miller directs with such intensity and confidence. Mel Gibson as Max gives layers to a straightforward character. The action set pieces are mind blowing. A perfect action film. A perfect sequel.
@JoeMSonntag1@mikiariyama I love his early work as well. Namor was bold and visually appealing. Miss the 90s era …so many dynamic comics by some truly amazing artists.
I’m a little late in making this post. I needed to give myself some time to really express how I feel..
I lost my Father Wednesday afternoon and as heartbreaking as this is for me I would like to focus on who my Dad was. His name was Gregg Sonntag, his nickname was Moose, I always loved that growing up but looking back I really see how that fit him. Of course the nickname was given to him by his siblings when he was young, but for me as a kid when I looked at my Dad I saw this big powerful person that nothing seemed to be able to stop. I always felt safe around me Dad because I knew there was nothing in this world that could hurt me or could get through him. A true mountain of a man, no closet monster would stand a chance! The thunderstorm ran away from my Fathers presence when I would cuddle up in his big arms in the middle of the night. Yes I was scared of thunder when I was a kid I’ll admit it lol, but never when Dad held me. I wanted to be just like Dad when I grew up, he was tall, could outrun us and throw a football for a mile! I never saw him lose an arm wrestling match and he could lift anything. He walked like a man should walk, with power in his stride, my Father was truly an impressive man. I couldn’t have asked for a better father and I will always praise the Lord for the 42 years I got with him.
Dad had a bond with all three of his boys, specifically our bond was shared watching the Bears on Sundays, although the games usually ended with the Bears on the losing side, it never seemed to matter. Just Me, Dad, and a homemade bowl of Popcorn is all I needed. Just the excitement of the game and the high fives or, a lot of times, us yelling at the TV “Come on that was pass interference!!” Could be heard most Sundays, just ask my Mom. I always thought we would be able to watch the Bears win a Superbowl together but, nonetheless I hold some truly special times in my memory of those days.
I really could go on because there is so much and maybe I will at the memorial service but let me tell you a little about the day we lost our father.
It started with a text, simple enough when you think of it, you never really think of the tragic things that happen in life until you get that call or read that text. While looking at my phone and reading the message Mom sent to us “Something is happening to Dad please come to the house”, unfortunately I knew what that meant and my heart dropped when I realized the text was almost 30mn old. As panic creeped over me like a cold shiver I called my Mom and prepared for the worst. I was told it didn’t look good and to come quick, so I got in my car and headed home. A funny thing happens when you experience a rush of emotions like that, I found myself praying of course, but instead of the normal “please God don’t take my Dad'' I instead prayed “your will be done Lord just let me get there in time.” My Dad wished to die at home, he did not want to die in a hospital alone, these are things that ran through my mind as I raced through the back roads to get to our Gobles home. Pulling up the driveway I saw the ambulance up by the house, as I passed the gurney I had a flash of hope that maybe things were going to be ok, he was at least in shape to go to the hospital. I drew a little comfort from that because when I tell you that no hospital had ever beaten my Dad that is one hundred percent the truth. As I entered the house my hopes dropped as I saw them working on my Father and my Mom talking to the EMT’s while my brothers sat around Dad. I could tell this was it. Something I had feared for nearly 20 years was unfolding before my eyes as I knelt down beside Dad who was sitting in one of his chairs. I grabbed his hand, it was cold, and I said I’m hear Dad, I love you. This is how strong my Father is. He was in cardiac arrest, his eyes were closed and he was breathing heavily, but he turned his head when he heard my voice and I knew he knew I was there…pt 1
Giant tarantulas have been known to keep tiny frogs as pets to prevent insects from eating the burrowing tarantula's eggs. In return, the spiders protect the frogs from predators.
@Films_At_Home I like your ch. Nobody forced you to go to school. Nobody forced you to take out a loan. Put on your big boy pants and pay off your loan.
@NaikaVideo@LunaticCultistk@TimesSqKungFu Glad to see Drive on your list. Recently picked up the new MVD blu. For anyone who has not seen this..I highly recommend it!
