I wonder the kind of person I am. I reported someone for criminal breach of trust. He got arrested and locked up with the agreement that he’d be sent to court after 2 days if he is unable to pay up.

After passing a night there, his friends approached me and apologised on his behalf and even told me that he had not eaten since morning. I was eating when they came so I packaged the remaining food (about 2/3 of the portion) and asked them to take to him. One of them then exclaimed “gaskia hajiya kina tausayin yaron nan naki”, I smirked. After much pleading, I told them I’d reach out to the officer in charge on better ways to facilitate recovery of my funds.

Few moments later, I called the officer and after exchanging pleasantries, I asked him to take the phone to the offender. Upon receiving the phone, he said “Hajiya dan Allah dan Annabi ki mun afuwa”, then I asked him if he had changed and he responded affirmatively. I then asked him to get someone who would bail him. Hmm.. your guy said he had no one.

Long story short, I had to appoint someone to go bail him and sorted out the police. Upon his release, he called to thank me and demanded N2K for transportation 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 Don’t ask if I gave him, I did. 🤦🏽‍♀️
