Demanding for extra amount despite clearing the complete loan and interest amount. I had availed two loans from Rupeek against gold pledged with them in March 2026. The first loan, bearing Loan No. 2467336, was for an amount of ₹36,63,384/-, and the second loan, bearing Loan No. 7035354, was for an amount of ₹42,09,560/-. From March 2026 onwards, we have paid approximately ₹6,38,000/- towards interest in respect of the above two loans. We were required to pay approximately ₹87,000/- towards interest for both loans together by 4th of every month. The interest for March 2026, April 2026 and May 2026 was paid on time. However, on 4 June 2026, due to an inadvertent oversight and other difficult circumstances, the interest payment could not be made on that particular day. On 5 June 2026, we immediately contacted the Rupeek team and approached Mr. Raghu, requesting him to look into the matter because the interest liability had moved to the second slab, resulting in a substantially higher amount. Mr. Raghu informed us that he would look into the matter and get back to us. Despite repeatedly following up with him for several days, no resolution was provided. We were repeatedly asked to wait on the ground that discussions were taking place internally. Subsequently, our calls were not properly attended to and, on several occasions, our calls were ignored or disconnected. By the time the matter was addressed, the interest liability had increased substantially and had crossed ₹5,00,000/-. After several discussions and internal approvals, the Rupeek team agreed to provide a waiver of approximately ₹1,20,000/-, stating that there had been miscommunication on their side and that the matter had taken considerable time to resolve. We accepted the proposed arrangement in good faith. Further, an amount of approximately ₹3,38,000/- was paid towards interest on 20 August 2026 in respect of one of the loans but still the third slab interest was only continued. We were then informed that, since we had two separate loan accounts, an ITO process was required under Rupeek’s internal procedure and that the waiver relating to the second loan would be reflected only after we paid the third-slab interest on the first loan and completed the ITO process. We agreed to this requirement as we wanted to resolve the matter. During the ITO process, on the very day the process was being carried out, we were informed about a further GPA amount. We were told that the ITO process would not be completed unless the said GPA amount was cleared. At that stage, after having already gone through considerable financial and mental torture from rupeek representatives and after making substantial payments, we were left with nothing but suicidal thoughts.
The entire ITO process was extremely distressing for us. We were repeatedly asked to remain available and were made to wait for several hours outside the bank, on multiple days, from morning until evening, on the assurance that the process would be completed that day. After waiting for the entire day, we were subsequently informed that the process could not be completed due to an alleged internal or system-related issue and that it would be completed the following day. This was repeated on several occasions over approximately a week. We continuously followed up with the concerned Rupeek representatives because every additional day was resulting in further interest being charged at the third slab.

Despite repeatedly explaining that the delay was causing us substantial financial loss, the process was not completed within a reasonable period. We were repeatedly put through the same process and made to wait for long hours outside the bank, while the additional financial liability continued to increase. After multiple rounds of follow-up, repeated visits/waiting and considerable mental and financial torture , the ITO process was finally completed. We were compelled to go through this entire process in order. We paid extra interest amount in thousands, extra penal charges because of the delay caused by this team.
Now, we have subsequently cleared the complete loan amount for one of the loans and all legitimate and applicable dues from our end. There are no outstanding dues payable by us. We have fulfilled our payment obligations towards the loans and have completed the required procedures.
Despite this, Mr. Rahul, Mr. Akshay and other concerned Rupeek representatives are now refusing to release and hand over our pledged gold to us. We are being told that the waiver amount has to be paid even though the loan has been closed and there are no outstanding dues from our end.
We strongly dispute the basis for withholding our gold on the ground of any alleged waiver amount. A waiver was communicated to us as part of the resolution offered by the Rupeek team after the interest liability had increased due to the prolonged delay and internal communications. We accepted the arrangement communicated to us and complied with the conditions imposed upon us. We subsequently cleared the loan and the legitimate dues in full. There is therefore no justification, from our understanding, for continuing to withhold our pledged gold on the basis of an alleged amount that is now being demanded after closure of the loan. The Rupeek application also reflects the relevant loan as closed. We have repeatedly requested the concerned representatives to release our gold and have also requested a complete and transparent reconciliation of the loan account. However, despite there being no dues from our end, our gold continues to be withheld. The conduct of the concerned representatives, particularly Mr. Rahul, Mr. Akshay and the other persons involved in the matter, requires examination. We request verification of the complete statements of both Loan No. 2467336 and Loan No. 7035354, all interest amounts charged and collected, the approximately ₹3,38,000/- payment made on 20 August 2026, the total interest of approximately ₹6,38,000/- paid from March 2026 onwards, the approximately ₹1,20,000/- waiver communicated to us, the circumstances in which the GPA amount was introduced during the ITO process, the communications and instructions given to us regarding the ITO process, and the present status of both loan accounts.
We are ready to provide all relevant loan documents, payment receipts, bank statements, WhatsApp messages, screenshots, call recordings, communications with Rupeek representatives and any other supporting material required to establish the complete sequence of events. At this stage, our primary and immediate request is our pledged gold must be released and handed over to us without any further delay. We have already undergone considerable financial loss, mental stress and torture because of the prolonged handling of this matter. We do not wish to continue this dispute any further and only seek the return of our property after having fulfilled our obligations. We therefore request you to kindly look into the matter, verify the complete account and payment records, examine the conduct and communications of the concerned Rupeek representatives, and take appropriate action. We further request that necessary steps be taken to ensure that our pledged gold is released to us forthwith, as there are no outstanding legitimate dues from our end.
