@IdrisAOni1 Love for one's parents, spouse, teacher, Shaykh, leader must never become greater than commitment to Allah and His revelation. Disagreement can coexist with good character. A Muslim may reject a parent's command while continuing to speak gently, serve them and show gratitude

@IdrisAOni1 Allah does not merely recommend kindness to parents; He enjoins it. Respect does not mean absolute obedience.
Even when parents demand something as grave as shirk, the child must refuse. Yet the refusal does not permit rudeness, abuse or disrespect.
