Everyone knows Titan. What not many know is it is a joint venture between Tatas and Tamilnadu government. Tamilnadu government owns 28% stake in Titan, roughly valued at Rs.87,000 crores. The name Titan itself is arrived from combining the words Tata Industries and Tamilnadu.

Titan was started in 1984, when MGR was Chief Minister. What an investment this turned about to be. To illustrate, every single sale of Tanishq jewellery adds economic value to Tamilnadu.

Titan's chairman is always an IAS officer nominated by Tamilnadu government. Current RBI governor, Shaktikanta Das, who belonged to Tamilnadu IAS cadre, was once Chairman of Titan.

What's the controversy about Imane Khelif?
Khelif , an Algerian boxer is "accused" of being male - after the opponent Angela Carini, an Italian boxer, abandoned the match after 46 seconds.  Carini says this is the hardest she has been hit.

What's the background for the claim that Khelif is male?
Khelif failed an unspecified gender test in 2023 conducted by the now defunct IBA(International boxing association) . IBA president says Khelif has XY chromosomes - but no details about the test are available in public domain.

Is there a political background to the controversy?
IBA was derecognized in 2019 by IOC(Internatioaal Olympic Committee) for financial mismanagement, governance  and integrity issues. Several national associations including India's have opted to join a new association called World Boxing instead of IBA due to these issues.

What's the current IOC criteria for determining gender?
None. If the passport says you are female, you are female

Has anyone seen the testosterone or karytopye/FISH report of Imane Khelif ?

The product will now go off shelf and will become part of a dumper history of medical care in India.

But I do not blame these scamsters wholly. There is a whole Ministry in India which swallows tax payers money that promotes Giloy herb and such related pseudoscientific products and unscientific practices for various diseases including COVID prevention. They sowed the seeds of mistrust in medical science in the public and helped scamsters like this saffron thug to grow and leech on public health using misleading advertisements. When will the Ministry of Ayush be taken to trial for endangering public health?

The lawsuit against the scamster and associates was filed by various doctors associations in 2021, including Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research Chandigarh. It takes only a small group of doctors to put up a David vs Goliath fight for bettering public health. Stand up for medical science ✊

My last review of the day in the outpatient was a desperate self referral from a father for his 1 year old son who has developed a devastating liver disease with nearly 100% death rate, known as sinusoidal obstruction syndrome due to use of traditional Ayurvedic herbals prescribed for constipation since he was 4 months old, when the norm is only exclusive breast feeding. They did not have money for a liver transplant, but I assured them we can do it for free if one of the parent came forward to donate part of their liver. I hope they make the right decision. Children dying because of normalization of pseudoscientific practices within the community makes a nation "underdeveloped." Not great and definitely not "developing."

Widespread manipulation happened in NEET 2024 exams and the results bear testimony to the allegations made by students soon after the exam. Many people didn't understand the details of the fraud happened and therefore we decided to analyse it from basics.

This Government has put the life of lakhs of children who studied day and night for fulfilling their dream of becoming a doctor and serve the society. Many poor parents have taken loans to fulfil their children's aspirations. Several Children committed suicide after the results came out.

This gross crime needs to be investigated, punish the culprits, provide remedy for the aggrieved children as soon as possible. (1/n)
